  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Saw The Equus at The NY Auto Show

Korean comparison test (Equus VS460 vs. LS460L vs 740Li)

YouTube- [Comparison Test]EQUUS VS460 vs LS460L vs 740Li

Highlights:

The Equus was the most expensive car in the test
The Equus was slowest to 60mph (the KDM car they tested is rated at only 366hp for some reason, even with the extra 19hp it's still a 6 second 0-60 car)
The Equus falls in between the Lexus and BMW in terms of overall handling/braking, but displayed the least amount of body roll
The Equus was the quietest vehicle in the test (by a small margin)

Not too shabby IMO....definitely seems like a worthwhile addition to the segment, especially if it costs around $55-$60k.

Interesting to see how BMW gets so much performance out of their i6 750...despite lower power compared to the Equus. The BMW was only 55lbs lighter but gave up 40hp to the Equus. Looks like the BMW's transmission is geared more for performance. Also, interesting to see the Equus is the most expensive of the three, in Korea, 17% more than the Lexus LS460 and 6% more than the BMW. That would never fly in the U.S.

I wonder how many Genesis have been exported back to Korea and how many Equus will see the same fate.

Don't worry, the US will soon have a VAT. Unless Republican majorities are elected in the fall, a US VAT is nearly guaranteed.

With the HUGE national debt it is guaranteed either way.

Not so. Most of the new spending has been ineffective government services. Most of the new health care costs are not in federal taxes. They are in state taxes used to pay for Medicaid and in higher insurance premiums to add expanded coverage.

The new spending could be eliminated without a significant and in many cases noticeable change in government services.

Back on subject: no one is saying the Equus isn't a good car, but their are lots of 'good' cars. There is more to a luxury car than leather interior and even there, some of the interior treatment, for example the lower part of the dash, aren't done that well.

Okay guys, time to take it to PM. This isn't a political forum. :)

I will absolutely hate VAT because its the most convenient tax for the government and once the government starts doing it and gets addicted, it never comes down. I cannot recall a single country in recent history that has introduced VAT and later scrapped it.

Why not cut the US military spending by half and channel the funding into government motors? If US had done that earlier im sure most cars can fly by now and have a nuclear fission engine.

Who is John Galt?

Whatever the specks or features, I think the Equus is far more attractive than the 7 series, LS, or S Class. The A8 is a closer call.

Looking to update and upgrade your Genesis luxury sport automobile? Look no further than right here in our own forum store - where orders are shipped immediately!
Is is nice, inside and out. It has the options missing in the Genesis: ventilated, fully adjustable passenger seat, pneumatic suspension, front camera. A few that probably should have been options on the Genesis, such as blind spot warning.

Not as avant garde as some of its price competitors in styling (5-series, E-class, GS, M56, etc.) it is probably as attractive as any of them and more practical than most. Controls are well laid out. Interior materials are very good. Trunk is probably the best in class. They said the automatically adapting cruise control uses microwaves like the European systems in contrast with the less effective laser systems used by some Japanese manufacturers.

They said there would be three option groups with pricing between $50k and $60k. That probably means a car with all the goodies other than 4-passenger seating will go for around $56k. The base model will go for around $50k, however we don't know what that model will be missing.
iJDMTOY, Car LED Bulbs
They said the 4-passenger seating is targeted at the limo rental market. I can easily see limo services using this car.

If there is any complaint it would be that the car seemed a little bland, like a generic luxury sedan rather than a specific brand. As a buyer in the price range I can easily see it being a preferred vehicle. However, it lacks the brand image which is important to many buyers in this segment.

It is truly a luxury car and very well decorated inside.
