The car needed to be moved
Hey guys. Checking back in.
Just wanted to let you know I drove my car from one spot to another. I moved it probably 50 feet. There were other vehicles in the vicinity. I confess that I didn't put my seat belt on.
Thoughts?
Many years ago I took a run up to the corner store 2 minutes away and on the way back left my seat belt off because "why bother".
Going around a corner at 30kph (19mph) I caught a patch of ice and slid into a parked car. I then quickly fled the sce...just kidding, at that slow a speed, I went forward and hit the steering wheel with my mouth. My tooth cut right into my lower lip and and caused a permanent numbness in my mouth. I was amazed at how easy it was to get injured at such a low speed.
That being said, I am pleasantly surprised at how unobtrusive the seat belt chime is compared to other vehicles I've driven.
I'm thinking you're the fish for "biting" - but the OP is the guy getting chased overboard (for resurrecting this thread)LOl, am I the fish or the guy jumping in the water?
I should add, I do use my seat belt at all times but the reminder when I forget is a nice change from other vehicles I've driven.

To answer your question .....as far as I know, there isn't any "hidden steps" to do that in Genesis G1/G2, well....maybe there is, but no person in this forum is aware of it.
I don't care if you wear set belts or not, it's not my problem.![]()
So says all the people you don't know someone who died because they COULDN'T undo the jammed seat belt after an accident and died as the car fire consumed them or the car sunk under the water. The media never reports on those cases, just like they never cover the stories where lives were saved or mass shootings prevented because of someone else carrying a weapon. But because its is the law, the family who lost the loved one cannot sue the car manufacture or government for the death due to broken seatbelt. And just because "report" says was not wearing seatbelt does not mean person's life would have been spared if he was wearing it. Today, airbags do everything and more to protect you during an accident rendering the seat belt all but useless. And magically, i have never worn a seatbelt in all 40 years of driving and somehow I've survived. But the thing is, when I test drove the G70, the warning didn't go off, so there must be a way to disable. Just bought mine yesterday, haven't been able to figure it out, but will call the dealer tomorrow to see if they can advise since they were able to turn it off in the model I drove test driving. Most of the auto deaths you see reported on TV end with the statement ..."and he wasn't wearing a seatbelt."

So I guess all of you hover around motorcycle blogs and forums and rant constantly about how no one should ride a motorcycle or especially when not wearing a helmet? you would if you were consistent and worried about others safety. But let me take a wild guess that none of you frauds do, because the same arguments you have put forth here would apply double to one riding a motorcycle, but you would have to think about an issue deeper than a 7 year old to realize that. But now you say, "well that's a person individual right and choice if they choose to ride a motorcycle knowing the risk" Exactly. As it should be with wearing a seatbelt. BTW, since it is the law, if you get in an accident not wearing your seat belt the insurance company can and most likely will deny injury claims, so don't worry, your rates wont go up and you or car manufactures will not get sued by us crazy non-belt wearing lunatics. So now you have to ask yourself, if the gov is really concerned with our safety, why do we have to wear seat belts but are also allowed to ride motorcycles without helmets in most states? The Fed intervenes in one case and ignores the other? so is it about safety or the insurance lobbies paying off politicians to protect their profits? gosh, which do you think? Either we have freedom of choice or we dont. Either it's our responsibility or it isn't. And all you geniuses who can't wait to do whatever the gov tells you without question, can any of you tell me where in the constitution it says the fed gov has the right to tell us to wear seat belts?Let me preface this by saying I'm a proponent for wearing seat belts. I wear mine 90% of the time.
With that being said, does anyone know how to disable the seat belt warning chime that dings when you don't have your seat belt on? Or at least point me in the direction of how to figure out how to disable it? I looked in the owners manual download that is available in one of the pinned threads up top but wasn't able to find anything regarding it.
In previous vehicles of mine it would say how to disable that noise in the owners manual. It was usually some sort of weird steps you had to do like, sit in car with seat belt on, turn on car, roll down window, take seat belt off, turn radio on then off, etc...
