  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Guys this is our chance to make this to become a reality.
I finally was able to connect with SFR aka Seoulful For Racing who asks for some local sedan owner who may be willing to work with him and I'm sure he'll offer some nice amenities in return.
Here is his response to my pm recently.

"We will just need some local test cars which we've been communicating with some then they have cancelled on us and all that hasn't been so successful. Now I am visiting Korea and will be back next week. We are going to have to try again or perhaps you can have some guys on my way on the forum and so?"

SFR is located in West Chester, PA in case you wonder.
SFR is also one of most popular tuners in KDM car community.
PM me if you want to do so and I will have you directly connect with SFR in no time.

I'm in PA about an hour from West Chester.
Should we contact them directly?
I don't have a lot of availability during the week but can be available some weekends.

Jay Kim who is the owner is in S Korea til next week.
I believe he's also on FB.
Here is his email address.

Just tell him you're from the sedan side.
Jay has personally dynotuned my coupe in the past and I would not have had it in other way and likewise I'm hopeful he can do the same to the sedan clans.
It would also be more helpful if we could get the R2C to hurry up and get that piece done prior to tuning but not required.

Looking to update and upgrade your Genesis luxury sport automobile? Look no further than right here in our own forum store - where orders are shipped immediately!

I'll contact him when he gets back and see if we can set something up.
I'm all for bolting on a CAI if one becomes available.

I have a 4.6 and live in King of Prussia Pa. And work in Delaware.

His shop is on my way (sort of).

Let me know how long he need it and when. I may be able to switch to the bike for a week or so.

There are probably some development cost associated with this tuning project. I was wondering who is paying for those costs. And would it help if some of us were willing to pay up front to share in the development cost? Would it help if all the guys who are interested chipped in $100 to help cover costs? And maybe all the guys who do could get that credited toward any service performed and/or parts from the tuning company. I'm willing to send the guy $100 bucks to help with the process.

Just a thought.

+1

Don't worry about up front fee and I'm sure nothing is free either.
SFR will let us know how much it costs at the release cycle once he's all done testing and getting ready to release the product.
It looks like a good turn out thus far and let's keep it up, the more the merry.

Those who would like to volunteer for test car please email SFR directly.
I believe Jay is back to the state from S Korea.
Here is the email.

I did not email, but I am in for the 4.6. It may be worth discussing an actual ESC off selection to disable the nanny, if this is possible from his end.

Absolutely. ESC (completely OFF) is one of the top key features that any good tuner has to offer and I do know SFR offering this in their canned or customed tune.

I don't understand what the problem is in finding a crack for the ecu. IIRC there was a tau v8 stuffed into a coupe that was supercharged for a SEMA show back in 2010 or so. I think I read that it had a piggy back ecu. Where is that info? Why can't a tuner contact that vendor who brought the car (think it was Rhys Millen)?

How many customers does a tuner need to break even or turn a profit? Most of us sedan owners are not the flakey boy racer ghosters. We got moolah to spend and WANT to spend it. Maybe I should have gotten the G8 after all.

I sent an e-mail, and never got a reply.

oh well.

I guess we could reach out to BTR, but I do not know their location at the moment. I am close enough to SFR to make it a day trip...

BTRcc is supposed to be located somewhere near Hartford, CT last time I checked.
SFR is located at West Chester, PA as I might have mentioned in other posts.
I've previously used SFR who tuned my coupe (twice) but never tried BTRcc.

I live in King of Prussia Pa... and Work in Wilmington De...

I drive past their location at least once a week to visit my buddy in West Chester Pa (between home and work)...

During the summer, I could have been without my car for an extended period of time (couple of weeks anyway) - since I have a motorcycle that I can ride.

Dropping car off and picking up would have been easy... but no response.

As easy as it would be given the location, I can't see giving business to someone who does not seem to want it.
