  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Yeah for the fuel savings I would have really liked it to be present. I was surprised and a bit disappointed that it wasn't there as well. Probably the one feature specifically that I would take if there was one more to add to the car. Even over LSD, 360 Camera or a few of the other things the Prestige and 3.3 Sport receive. I did test drive the 2.0T Elite and C300 with the stop and go and found the G70 implementation to be smoother. Both were pretty unobtrusive though, you'd get used to them fairly quickly and if you're in really hellish stop and go traffic you can just shut it off.

On a side lighter note it also leaves 2 blank buttons in the centre console for the camera and the stop/start switch and those blanks make me sad. ;-)

Seriously, that is what those blanks are for?? Now I’m pissed 😤.

That's actually pretty clean looking compared to most. No random empty spots!

I guess that’s a good way to look at it. But it kinda bugs me with mine because it’s a constant reminder that I was too cheap to get more (stupidly expensive) options. ;)

I like Volvo's touch implementation for extra features. The downside is that, I like buttons and a cockpit like interior!
Miss my TL SH-AWD interior...

I’ve had it in 2 cars (still have it in 1) and if the implementation is good (ie if it is seamless with smooth shut downs and re-starts, if the hardware upgrades like battery and starter are properly done etc), I think it’s a good feature and I have gotten used to sitting at stop lights in silence and peace (except for my music of course). Once I got used to how it works, I find it relaxing and appreciate every minute of lower emissions. I’m less concerned about my gas mileage - except maybe with this thirsty G70 :).
I agree with this. On all but the hottest days (90+ degrees), where the AC compressor shuts down, it is virtually invisible to me now. It makes no sense that it would not be included in the 3.3T when it has been in M cars for years.

If you mean Drive Select, I do not have it, but wish I did. The steering on the G70 is definitely lighter and the car overall feels lighter although I think weight is similar? I think that ‘control’ feels fine and not worse.

My S5 has fairly low mileage since it’s not my daily driver and so far I have not had to worry about any carbon issues. Is that what I have to look forward to??

In the meantime, I’ll enjoy both cars depending on what mood I’m in!

Appreciate the input! Yes, Drive Select is exactly what I meant, but on the 2011 (my year), you had to get the sports differential for Drive Select so I always think of that.

I don't want to make it sound like you're definitely going to have the carbon buildup, but it's probably going to happen. It's just the way those engines are designed - it's when, not if. Mine came at 42k miles and was done for ~$950 at a local shop after the dealer quoted me $2k+. Depending on where you are in the country, it will be cheaper, because it's mostly labor. Hopefully it doesn't happen for a long time!
