  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Aww man, I wish I would've seen this last night and took some pictures. I reworked my intake again last night for like the 400th time and turned it into a true CAI. I also have a painted cover. Pictures forthcoming this evening.

Looking to update and upgrade your Genesis luxury sport automobile? Look no further than right here in our own forum store - where orders are shipped immediately!
Here are some up to date pics of mine. I've built an intake from scratch using 4 and 3.5" aluminum piping from Silicone Intakes.

I admire the creativity but that looks like it's just sucking hot air right off the engine.
You should enclose it to create a heat shield.

I had a heat shield on one of my earlier iterations. The diameter pipe I used was too small and I ended up scrapping it.

It was also made out of a black garbage can and I felt it detracted from the vehicle's look. Unfortunately the Genesis's layout is too cramped for a CAI that has a proper diameter.

I agree and think that being that there is very little room to work with is a big factor in why no brand name kits (k&N or Spectre) have made more of an effort to create something..im having a sheet metal shop installing/welding on a bung to a tube i got from pepboys for my intake, connecting the vacuum hose this week..im going to see if they can fabricate a shield too..ill post some pics when its all done.
