  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I have had a Sirius XM subscription for more than 5 years and have been using a standalone portable unit, which I can use in any of my cars or in a dock at home. When I bought the Genesis, it came with a 3-month Sirius XM subscription for the built-in unit. However, I notice that I can't get some of the stations that my standalone unit can get. For example, on Sunday, I can get individual NFL football games on the standalone, but NOT on the Genesis Sirius XM radio. In the Genesis, there is only ESPN radio channel and the NFL channel for pro football.

Have any of you noticed this? If you have extended your subscription and paid for a year subscription, do you get all the Sirius channels including NFL game channels?

Depending on which of the 2 you have. The genesis uses xm radio, your others may have Sirius. Even though they are now 1 company, each tuner has a different selection of stations.

My Genny came with THREE YEAR free Sirius XM.

Mine came with 3 months. Not going to renew it. If you wait a bit, you can call them and get 6 months for $25.

Actually it is not the full XM, but XM Travel Link that is free for 3 years. The radio programming is free for 3 months.

Sirius XM Travel Link® (includes Sirius XM Traffic, stock, sports, weather, gas prices, movie info - 3 years complimentary)

How long did you wait, until you got the 6 months for $25 rate?

My other Sirius (standalone) radio has a lifetime subscription for which I paid $300 over 5 years ago. Supposedly I can transfer it to another radio (like on my Genesis for a $75 transfer fee)

After you get the second letter in the mail, call them. They will negotiate with you. You have to be willing to walk away. Let them know you don't want it but that your willing to keep it for 6 more months for $25. Worked for me in the past.
