  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

New here. 2026 GV70 3.5 owner. Approx 3k miles so far. Having terrible issues with Sirius XM. Not sure if it’s the car or Sirius. Sometimes the radio works, other times it says “searching” or “downloading from Sirius.” Drove almost 4 hours on a trip back home from New England and could only listen to 1 station the entire trip. Tried pulling over. Turn car off, open close door, turn back on. No luck. Bring car in for 1st service soon. Any other users here have the same issues? Annoyingly stupid.

Did it work on the trip to New England?
Brand new car? Was the radio registered for the trial subscription? If so, is it now expired and did you set up a new or transfer the old subscription?

Yes, I've seen these or similar messages, but very very seldom. Like you, I initially tried shutting OFF the engine and restarting, but the same thing usually happens afterwards, so I just live with it. The music still plays. Preset favorites should help. I've always chalked it up to Sirius XM, but maybe not. Give us an update after you get it serviced.

I called Sirius when i got the car. Had my old cars Sirius subscription moved over. I will call Sirius again to see what’s up. Noticed it happens often too when it’s raining out. It’s weird because in all the other brands of cars I’ve had before w Sirius I’ve never had this type of problem before. Maybe once in a while if im driving in a tree covered area but not like this. It almost seems like it’s an issue with the car/interface itself. I will call Sirius and also let the shop know what’s up see what they do. I love the car but have to be honest here, when i made the decision to buy this car my biggest concern was all the tech. Tech is great, when it works….

Could be the antenna came loose. I believe it is under the shark fin. See your dealer.

My 26 does a similar thing. 1st time it happened, I called Genesis and they had me reboot the head unit. It worked. Yesterday it went out again. Display said 'antenna error." Called Genesis again. They wanted me to reboot again ( I declined) or call Sirius. Instead, I turned off the engine, opened and closed the door. This time I got a prompt saying "Sirius loading." It didn't go away. Continued my drive via Bluetooth. Got home, shut the car off, etc. About 2 hrs later, I restarted and all was well. I have no idea if it's a h/w or s/w problem. But reading about similar issues leads me to think it's software.

I've had the same issue described above with other vehicles (not with my GV70) and there have always been two things in common.

1) The Sirius firmware in the head unit needs to be updated. With Audi whenever I began having issues with channels I needed to force a Sirius FW update, or wait a couple days and the system would auto-update. Ford was the same way, but to get the update I had to call Sirius and have them push it down to the radio. Sirius would instruct me the vehicle needed to be parked outdoors with a clear view of the sky for the update to be pushed to the radio.

2) Bad reception, blocked antenna or loose antenna connection. I had cargo bars on a Volvo XC-90 which were within a few inches of the Sirius antenna. From time to time Siris would cut out and "searching for channel" would display on the screen. Once I removed the cargo bars the issue never happened again. With the Ford the connection on the roof antenna to the coax cable was lose. I removed the shark fin cover and tightened the connection and other than when the FW needed updated, I never had the issue again. The Audi seemed to have the most sensitive antenna. On the same roads I drove the Ford, Volvo and Genesis on and never had an issue, the Audi would lose the Sirius connection about 10% of the time in certain spots. It was never for long but annoying.

Long story short, in my experience with Sirius, it is hardly ever just one thing and it's a service that can be finicky.

I have had the exact same issues. The radio usually connects within 1 to 3 minutes. Sometimes it does not connect at all. On some occasions a station will work, but I cannot switch to another station. Yesterday I had the head unit replaced at Genesis. Hopefully that will fix the issue, but Genesis is aware of the issue and our exeriences do no seem to be unique.

Got my car into the dealership a few weeks ago for a routine change they’re awareness they’re waiting for serious to send them the update. They think by the end of the month have to bring a car and they’re gonna update the whole system and that’ll be the fix.
