  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

On October 1, 2015 I took delivery of a new 2015 Genesis Tech 3.8. Generally I've been very happy with the overall quality of the vehicle, but after only a couple of days of familiarizing myself with the various features available, it became apparent that the traffic feature was non-functional. I contacted my dealer, Maple Hyundai (Ontario, Canada), and asked for this problem to be resolved. By October 11th I had not received any resolution from the dealer so I contacted Hyundai Canada customer service. I was advised that she would contact my dealer and also consult with the technical department to see if there was an answer to my problem. I was advised that "if" an answer was available I would be contacted. On October 27th, because I had not been contacted by anyone, I revisited the dealership and asked if there was any development and I was told that head office had contacted them but no answer was to be had. Also, I was told that the service manager would be consulted again but he wasn't in until the following day. Today, October 30th, there was still no contact from the dealership so I called head office again and was told, by the same customer service person, that she had closed the complaint when she referred it back to the dealership. She said she would try again to contact her technical people and let me know "if" they find a solution. So a whole month has gone by and we've established that the base level of Hyundai customer service amounts to hoping that the complainant will get tired, give up, and go away. It must be noted that the Sirius XM traffic feature is shown (without disclaimer) in the brochure that Canadian dealers are distributing to potential purchasers. It also must be said that Sirius have refreshed my signal twice and are telling me that there is no reason that the trial version of Sirius XM traffic that I am using is not working in my area. The Sirius XM radio feature is working fine. All settings relating to traffic in the vehicle have been checked and are set correctly. So here's the thing: When you purchase a new vehicle, everyone wants to know how you like it. It's unfortunate that so many people are hearing from me that the vehicle, generally speaking is beautiful, however the level of customer service will preclude me from ever recommending one of their vehicles, or considering purchasing in future from Hyundai.

In what way is it not working? Mine displays warnings (accident, construction, etc) but does not display average speed. Some functions are only supported in limited areas. You could ask the dealership to let you check one of the other cars on the lot to see if it behaves like yours does.

If it really is unavailable in your area, the dealership should mention it when you buy the car.

Agreed. Problem is that SiriusXM says it should work, but my dealer is playing seriously dumb on the whole issue. It's like I'm the only person in Canada to have bought a Genesis sedan. Good advice: next move, tour dealerships and try other vehicles. And to answer your question: no pop-ups, no events in the list, no icons, no coloured lines - nothing. In Toronto - according to Sirius, supposed to work.
