  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Is anyone having trouble connecting to the site? We just moved to a new server so I know there were issues over the past several days. But please keep me posted if you're having any trouble from this point on.

Thank you,

Sal C.

I can connect to the site, but it takes about 4 minutes for any links (threads) to load. Using Chrome.

How long has that been happening for?

Started happening in the last 60 minutes.

Okay, let's hope that is a temporary issue. I haven't had any other complaints yet - so maybe it's just an ISP hiccup.

While slow loading pages is certainly a concern if it becomes a frequent issue, I've been noticing indications of sporadic inability to reach the website AT ALL. For the time being, that's what I'm trying to clear up.

I have gotten 504 bad gateways a couple times that forces me to close and re-open the browser. I have also experienced latency from time to time. Nothing I can pinpoint on that latency.

The 504's have just started as we made the switch to the new server.

Thank you. Is this still happening today?

I usually jump on the site around 7am Pacific time; for the past few days "page not available." IE10.

This should not have happened today. Did it?

have not had it happen today

That's good. Thank you. I believe everything should be back to normal at this point... I'm keeping my fingers crossed...

It did, actually. I can check in the morning and report back, if it helps. :)

Yes, thank you. Let me know if it happens again tomorrow morning. If it does, please email me (if you don't mind) with the following information:

1) Your geographic location
2) Your ISP
3) Your IP address

Please use the contact link at the bottom of the page...

Will do; glad to help in any way I can. :)

I was having connectivity issues since couple of days (I live in Des Moines, Iowa) and as latest as today. Went on a business trip to Kansas City and experienced the same issues on my Verizon phone, android tablet and Windows laptop (multiple browsers) until this afternoon. I am able to connect now from home. Hope the connectivity issues are resolved.

ISP is Mediacom.

Is the migration to new server complete yet?

not just this site. go to www.madisonross.com and you'll see a nice list of forums. when this one starts throwing a bad gateway or name resolution failure, several others links on that site exhibit the same problem.

polluted namespace?

been happening here all week.

sal, if my personal ISP & location will help, send email to the acct i'm registered under and i'll send it your way.

I have been having serious problems getting to this site all day today. I was just now able to get in. Was returning web page not found. ISP is AT&T DSL. Looks like a DNS problem. I will provide more info. If it happens again I am going to try and refresh my DNS cache.

if it was a DNS issue, then most of us would be having a simultaneous problem, no?

Seems more like a shared space issue to me. That happens a lot with hosting companies....

not necessarily - depends on how stuff propagates. even so, little value in us speculating since we can't fix ...
