I have the same issue, and was also told it's "normal". I have owned a lot of different cars in my 30 years of driving, this was never "normal" on any other vehicle (some of them were manuals though).
Disappointing for a supposed "luxury" vehicle, but my whole experience with the Genesis so far has been dismal. I'll get my car back tomorrow (supposedly) after over 30 days at the dealership due to the steering wheel vibration issue that others here have reported on. My initial rental car was a Chevy Cruze base model, after some arguing I managed to get an "upgrade" to a base model Hyundai Sonata, which is better than a Cruze but far from a full-size "luxury" car.
I'm pretty sure this was my first and last Hyundai or Genesis product - the experience in the first 12 months of ownership was worse than my Chrysler 300, and nowhere near my previous Audi A8 and A6 experiences, which is what Hyundai/Genesis claim they are aiming for. Audi leases are crazy expensive, so they are off my list, but the lower price of the Genesis lease is frankly not worth the hassle, especially when I pay for a Genesis Ultimate and drive a Chevy Cruze and Hyundai Sonata base model for several weeks.
No response from Hyundai customer service to my request to look into this issue for me, after an initial call to confirm some details. Total silence. Luxury car experience my a$$ ...
