  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Small vibration in seats during idle

Well it's been a long month and a half. Long story short... The vibration from the A/C and vibration in the steering wheel at highway speeds was not able to be fixed on my 2015 ULT GEN 3.8. Luckily I bought my car from a great dealership. Swapped me out of my car into a 2018 ULT GEN 3.8! Still a slight vibration when A/C is on but nothing like my car and no vibration in the steering wheel at highway speeds. I happened to luck up on a program car. Yes, had to pay more (wife is not in love with me right now) but it was a ridiculous deal for the car in the current market. Couldn't pass it up. Need to update my profile name now...lol 18 instead of 15

Good for you. The differences are not huge, but they are nice. Like the camera all around view.
Enjoy ir.

I have a 2015 genesis as well. Have the same problems I have been reading about. Vibrations when ac is on. Gets worse when it's hot outside. I've brought back to dealer several times. They tell me nothing is wrong with the car. Is that the consensus then? It's just a manufacturing problem that cannot be fixed? I loved my 2009 genesis. This one I am not happy with.

I have also felt the same vibration on my 2015 Genesis AWD Ultimate. With or without AC on. I have 1,700 mi. Very slight vibration.
If I visit the dealer, they maybe neglect it.

The vibration occurs whenever I wait for signal, that is "D" mode.
In "P" mode or "N" mode, the vibration is very very small and I didn't almost feel it. However, in "D" mode, I always feel it for waiting for signal.
During "running", I didn't feel any vibration.

Is it normal? or should I request to fix it ?
I bought the car on July 25, 2014.
I too have the same problem . I went to the dealership he said put a few tanks of 91 octane... I did still vibrates//

I too have the same vibration issue. It seems to dissipate a bit when the idle is above 500

Do you think it may be the chili you had last night? Sorry, it just hit me and I couldn't help myself this morning.
I feel it too. I was told to switch to premium gas... I put a few tanks in still have the vibration..

Still have the problem too. As summer approaches, more AC + waiting at lights means it'll be worse.

Someone mentioned it might be worn motor mounts, part: 21812-B1100 and 21812-B1150 (Insulator-Hydraulic) but I haven't had the chance to tear my car apart to buy/replace the part. Maybe someone has?

Someone also mentioned the radiator fan my be out of balance...I don't think that's the case. If the fan was out of balance the vibrations wouldn't go away when you raise the idle ("Drive" to "Neutral or Park")

Engine mounts. My sons Civic had an idle vibration I could feel in the steering wheel and the shift lever so I replaced all engine mounts and one transmission mount. Problem solved. Car was 12 years old. Several mounts upon removal the rubber was completely cracked thru inside the metal holder. Some mounts can be a PITA to get access to if your a DIY person.

My 5.0 had a rough idle / vibration while at an idle. After 4 or 5bottles of techtron injector cleaner back to back ,smooths right out. Can not even feel her idle now.

Take her out and give her the beans!!!@

That's right! While in quarantine I am driving her a lot less.

It's nice to take her out just for a spirited drive, especially as the Po Po are less likely to give me a ticket in these conditions.

I was running her around 125mph for about 10 miles the other morning, after that she purrs. Idles smooth and get better mpg as well!

Didn't want to bump an old post but I had the motor mounts on my car replaced under warranty recently. I complained about the vibration but also caught my car on video dipping below 500 rpm idle when I came to a stop at lights. Did a strange 400-700 rpm dance.

Anyway, dealer replaced both mounts and now the car is much smoother. I will say though, the vibration still exists. I can barely feel it but its much more muted with the new motor mounts. This leads me to believe that while the mounts were bad, they're covering up a vibration from something else....more investigating needs to occur.
