  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

So what kind of pricing did you guys/gals get?

$37,000 for V8 Genesis 4.6 with Tech Package
Also included trunk mat, cargo net, and iPod cable.

Also got 1.9% financing for 48 months.

Where in the US are you located, and what dealership did you buy from? Any non-normal discounts on the car or is that a normally negotiated price? i assume you got Hyundai financing?

tia,

tia,

I live in Dallas TX. Purchased from Van Hyundai in Carrollton, TX

Yes, it was Hyundai Financing.

There were zero Hyundai discounts, just a lot of research and tough negotiating. The kicker is that they also gave me $2,000 more on my trade in than anyone else!

Bottom line is that they knew that I had a good offer elsewhere and also knew that I was serious about buying. I went to the dealer late after work in a suit. Maybe that helps.

$36,200.00 4.6 Tech Pack with trunk mat

$36,200!!!! That's the lowest price I have seen. That was the SELLING price of the car before trade in, cash down, etc.?

mkny73,

That sounds like a great deal, thank you for the information. I am also shopping in the Dallas area. I am curious where else you shopped and where the "good offer elsewhere" came from? Do you have a salesperson you would like to recommend at Van or the other dealers? Thank you.

I don't know what you guys are using to figure out if you are getting a good price, but I got my fully loaded 4.6 for $35,900. Out the door (tax, tags, destination fee, processing fee) it was $38,100

Did you have a trade in? Was that with tech package? What dealer, dealership, etc?

Post the dealerships where you're getting these deals to help prospective owners, and good dealerships, out!

36,200 plus ttl. paid my buddy 135.00 for the tint (LLumar doors/back/moon roof to "alabama legal", i forget the %) with no trade. I wasn't even in town...wife did the dirty work and yes, I do feel she's a tough cookie!

Looks like not everyone is reading all of the posts! More details are requested on these great deals. Not just numbers. See Sayantsi's post!

Sounds like some folks were able to get it for 35,900 or 36,200. I would try and anchor them at that number. Van Hyundai has limited inventory so you should hit the dealers with more inventory. Cars.com will tell you who those dealers are. I went with Van Hyundai because they overpaid for my trade in and gave me a great price.

Since you know the prices that some were able to get, you should use that information to your benefit. If you are not trading in a car, this would be easy. If you trade in a car, you now need to juggle two variables.

I see the other prices on here, and I can look at Cars.com and other sites.

I was just trying to get an idea of who the other dealers are that you shopped, worked with, and you had a "good offer from".

No trade in, yes that was fully loaded (tech package plus the extras I mentioned). I got the deal from Victor and Leo at Fairfax, Hyundai in Fairfax, VA.

Hi im a new at posting to this site, but have followed for along time...i have owned my 4.6 for 6 months........i paid 33,900 for a 4.6 without the tech package...i thought that was a great deal since sams club said the invoice price 35,900........

Have any of you guys used a buying agent or one of these services such as Buy Direct? I was wondering if their bottom line price includes all of the dealer bumps or add ons such as pin stripes, mkt. adj. charge, fancy wax jobs, etc, etc. etc.

I,m close to pulling the trigger on a new Genesis but the car buying hassel always seems to get the best of me.It seems to me I always walk away with the feeling I left money on the table.

Any recommendations on agents or reps you have had good results with would be much appreciated.

Thanks in advance,

Dick

I called about 8 dealers in the local area (south Florida) to tell them I would buy the car on Friday (7/31) from the dealer with the lowest price, and to give me their absolute best price while also e-mailing/faxing them with my specs and including the research I have done. I also made it clear I would be contacting other dealers. So far, the best I have received is $36,799 + tax, tag, etc. or $40,176.48 out the door. This is for the 3.8 tech. Is there a reason why South Florida dealers are so dense or unwilling to do what the customer asks?

Studyaid,

I think It's very hard for the average car dealership, not just Hyundai, to deal with the public on a level playing field. My guess is that your approach made most of them angry and not willing to play nice with you. There really is a mentality out there to "never give a sucker an even break". It stems from a basic disrespect of the customer.

Don't misunderstand, it is always a contest, honest but rarely even. The seller tries to get the best price he can for his car and the buyer tries to give the least amount of money he can. My experience in buying cars is that the dealer always has the upper hand because he is a professional negiotiator.
Not all dealerships have the poor mentality you have encountered so when you find one that is honest and open give them your business.

Keep on keeping on,
Dick
