Solution! LED DRL's and LED turn signals

Just installed my vleds on my Genesis and even thou I love the look I am very disappointed that when on DRL mode the white goes to yellow on both sides randomly! Ive seen a couple had issues here with the same problem but I dont see any fixes. Has anyone fixed that issue?

I had same issue when installing my Vleds. You have to order "capacitors" to put inline with the harness. capacitors can be purchased anywhere you buy aftermarket HID kits. Make sure you get Capacitors NOT resistors. Capacitors hold energy (which the Genesis needs) vs resistors are for fixing light flicker (such as hyperflashing).

Hope this helps

Can you give me info on what capacitors you used? I took my car to a shop that Vleds sent me to cause they dont know the fix for the issues we are having and they are clueless to what capacitors to use. I rather they do it so it would not mess with the warranty of the bulbs. Also vleds what to get info so they can offer something so no other customer will go threw the same issues. You'll be considered a hero lol. Thank i would gladly appreciate it!

I have been messing with capacitors for my switchback leds, the amber switching was annoying me reflecting of cars in front of me in traffic. I ordered capacitors made for hid kits, but the capacitor was too big, it would start blinking white after a few blinks. They had a 10000uf 25v capacitor. I made my own using much smaller 100uf 35v capacitors from radio shack, so for so good.

So after reading through this thread, I am going to ask if there is a way to connect the inner amber drl's/turn signals to the accent lights so that they are both on at the same time. I'm thinking the wire from the accents +12v goes through diode to amber bulbs +12v wire, and -ground from accents goes through diode to amber bulbs -ground wire? This way when the accent lights are on, the amber drls are on/haven't got my car back from the shop but I think it would still flash...

Where do I connect these capacitors to? The factory harness or the Vled hardness?

Is there anyway to install Switchback LEDs without spending so much on Vleds? I have bought 1157 switchback LED bulbs and 1157 decoder adapter on eBay and I'm having lots of issues

The white comes on when the car is started but when turn signal is applied, the white light just goes off and thats it, no amber. When I put it back in park mode, the white then doesn't even come back on. Just really weird. I had these in my sonata and had absolutely no issues. Can somebody please guide me in the right direction so hopefully I can get these to work properly.

Linky for the needy?

- - - Updated - - -

I'm working with a few companies (and within my company) in Korea to get the OEM dual projector/LED turn signal headlights. :D
They cost about $1,500 USD + S&H.

Is there a link for these?

Thanks in advance

Re: Linky for the needy?

Sorry to bring up an old thread, but I am in the process of trying to install some switchbacks to my 2015 3.8 Tech Genesis. It appears that both sides are reverse polarity (only amber lights come on in DRL and Signal mode). Has anyone figured out how to do a clean rewire to reverse the polarity? Also, any solutions to the tapping for the resistor without cutting a hole in the housing? It looks like there is a set of wires on the outside - I'm not an electrician, so if someone has already identified the appropriate wires to tap, it would really help. I tried the VLED link to look for the 1157 reverse polarity adapter, but it is no longer valid. TIA

It seems the V3 is out of stock or discontinued. When I put in my vehicle there are no results for front turn signal bulbs. Anyone have another solution?

can anyone provide a link that is still available for this mod? I hate my amber turn signal light and also my amber DRL (high beam) and i have 2015 AWD

Does this only change the drl/high beam turn signal? Your led turn sinal will stay amber?is there a mod like this for the led strip?

For those of you that hate the 2015 amber DRL's and turn signals, I have found a solution that works. The V-Leds 5K WHITE AMBER SWITCHBACK V3 TRITON LED SYSTEM with the 1157 adapter works perfectly. The DRL's are white LED's and the turn signals are amber. All LED and plug and play, no hyperflash. The only thing that must be done is a hole must be cut in the bulb cover...easily done with a Dremel. What a difference! Hyundai, take note...this is the way the car should have been!
Hi. Thanks. Can you give me more info, name and how to purchase this kit? Sounds like just what I need. I have a 2015 Genesis 5.0 Ultimate. Thanks again.
