  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Found the detailed features comparision from this article, looks like the higher base MSRP is justified for the 2015 models.

Hope the AWD option will be available for the 5.0 trim in the next few years, because I am going to replace my old one in the next couple years and I do not want to stick to the V6 trim.

A bit off topic, and I'm sure it's been asked and answered, but what the heck is that rectangular plastic looking thing in the 2015 grill?

Thanks

Thanks for the quick response.

So perhaps it won't be there if you don't have the tech package.

I have not seen the car in person so I am not sure. But the new Mercedes S550 has this too, so may be Hyundai is just imitating it?

There is no imitating - it's the radar for those safety features which many cars are adding. Have not seen one without it in pics, so it may be built in the base cars.

My hunch is it's for European/Asian license plates. I "hope" it's not permanent. Really distracts from the looks IMHO.

The black, rectangular object behind the grill is the radar unit for the safety options. It is not a license holder, unless you are referring to something else.

Agreed about the one behind the grill........... makes sense......... but the one picture that is shown the most is one with a long rectangular piece and occasionally has some sort of European type license plate number on it. I'm sure you've seen them.

2014 doesn't have rainsensing wipers? 2010 does, either the author is mistaken or Hyundai removed that some time 2010... weird.
I think the difference is that rain-sensing wipers are standard on all trim levels in 2015 (including Base Trim), as opposed to only on Tech Package or R-Spec for 2009-2014. Personally, I would not want it based on the many complaints about it that I have seen posted. But I guess it makes their parts inventory management simpler since they can now use the same windshield on all Trim levels.

Premium package has rain sensing too since I have it (2012)

The 2010 had rain-sensing wipers in the V8 Tech edition.

The point is that rain sensing wipers were never standard on all 2009-2014 Genesis Sedan Trim levels, and in 2015 it is now standard, even on Base Trim. I think that is what one of the journalists meant.

Am I the only one who thinks that at the fully-loaded Genesis V8 price point Equus makes so much more sense now? :)

It does? How so? The Equus has none of the Genesis' chassis engineering or engine tuning and costs over $61K to start.

It has the same 5.0 engine as the current Genesis. Is there really much of a difference in 2015 engine? I think one could get an Equus at a substantial amount off of MSRP, making it close to the 2015 Genesis V8. Obviously, the Genesis is a bit sportier, but for a luxo-cruiser, Equus has pretty good value.

I will definitely be cross shopping the 2015 Genesis Ultimate and Equus Signature when I replace my '09 Genesis this summer.
