  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

This evening I had the Sprint Booster installed on my 2015 5.0 Genesis Sedan. I was hooked up by my friend Rob at Uniq Performance who had been in contact with the manufacturers who were looking for a test vehicle.

Hope to get more info once I get it hooked up to an OBD reader. From my drive home, you notice the immediate improvement to the throttle response and fell in love with my car all over again. Reminded me of the time I received the tune on the 2.0 Genesis Coupe I had before.

If there are any other 5.0 Gens in Toronto that want to test the cars one after the other, let me know and we can get something set up.

What all does this do? I assume it would work on my 2012?

Looking to update and upgrade your Genesis luxury sport automobile? Look no further than right here in our own forum store - where orders are shipped immediately!
They are designed to modify the Drive-By-Wire signal.

Almost no DBW vehicle has a 1:1 throttle ratio, basically where the input on the accelerator pedal position sensor is equal to the output of the throttle position sensor. If you have a scan tool that is capable of live data, you can see the variance for yourself between the APPS and TPS.

Jon, still interested in the APPS/TPS and short term/long term fuel trim data we talked about before.

Hell if they feel like shipping one ill definitely be a guinea pig for them.

Just wanted to see if you had an update on this?

Sprint Booster originally made an app for the 6 speed transmission. Worked as advertised on my 2009 and 2011.
Installed same Sprint Booster on my 2012 RSpec. Seemed to work well also on this 8 speed transmission, BUT transmission began to fail at about 40K miles - failure was in very abrupt downshifting when decellerating. Could not connect Sprint Booster to failure, but wondered.
Hope this Sprint Booster currently being tested is "new and improved."

Rey,
I just purchased an '11 4.6L. I was wondering how you liked the Sprint booster on your two 6 speeds? What improvements did you notice? How many miles did you put on both cars and no trans issues with them? Looks like they run about $300.

Joe,
I was an "early adopter" of Sprint Booster for my '09 4.6. The early Sprint Boosters had "fixed" settings". Current models have a module control for three settings, which were "stock", stage 1 and stage 2. I had the current model in my '11 4.6. Both worked very well and were, in my opinion, well worth the $$.
It appears that Sprint Booster uses the same model for both the Genesis coupe and sedan. but there is a separate module for Genesis (coupe) with manual transmission. This module is more aggressive in stage 2, and is the one I bought, and the module I recommend.

I have a 2015 genesis 5 lite , id love to get one, i'm in vancouver though.

So am I understanding you correctly? You had an '11 4.6 L and you used the booster made for a manual 3.8 L Coupe? You don't happen to have the model # do you? I have an '11 4.6 L and am interested.
Thanks,
Garth

Joe,
Sorry, but I do not have model number. I sold the car years ago. Nevertheless, I think there is but a single model for the Genesis coupe manual, fit my 2011 4.6. Doesn't cost anything to talk directly with SprintBooster folks.

I bought one of these for my '15 3.8 Auto Sedan. Going on my girl right when she gets home. ;)

Darn! Just when I thought my 2015 was going to be as fast as it was going to get I learned about Sprint Booster in this thread.

I reviewed a few videos mostly by BMW owners and shops that install the device and it works great on the BMW models. I have seen some test the showed the Sprint Booster reduced 0-60 times by as much as a .7 of a second. WOW.

My 2015 5.0 was tested by Car&Driver to do 0-60mph in 5 seconds flat. Motor trend clams 5.2, however they did not provide a PDF testing sheet like C&D so I will lend more towards C&D results.
Therefore, if the Sprint Booster work as well on our throttle system then it would make my car a 4.3 to 4.5 second 0-60mph car. Damn, I would be happy with that level of performance.:)

I may have to try one out. The engine does seem like it is restricted off the line, so maybe it is the factory throttle calibration. Hopefully, the Sprint Booster fixes that in our cars. I also like the adjustable settings so I can go back to stock if needed with a push of the button. Or dust a few well known sports cars at the stoplight also with a push of a button. Hey , I like to have fun hence why I bought the 5.0 model.:)
