  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Spy shots of the long-awaited GV80.

There will be an AWD with E-LSD. Interesting, it also shows that the 2.5T will be base engine then 3.5TT as an Option or possibly a trim level higher. Also third row again is confirmed to be an option.

Has anyone heard or read anything about an Air Suspension ? Is that even something that Genesis vehicles have ? Or is that more of a German thing ? I have and 2018 Audi SQ5 currently and would put my deposit down now if the GV80 had an air suspension...

It will more than likely be an option but honestly air suspension is just a gimmick. Also if you have the vehicle in the long run air suspensions are know for giving way.

I would have to disagree. Having it on mine and also driving X5s without it, there is definitely a difference in the ride. My wife even mentioned it when we were driving a loaner without it and she usually doesn't notice things like that. At this point I have it on the "must have" list for any future vehicle.

My mother’s X5 doesn’t has it and I think the ride quality is really nice. My brother has a first Gen X5 with the air suspension and it’s a headache to deal with. Albeit it is almost 20+ years apart but just shows how it can give way in the long run and it’s not cheap to fix up.

Obviously a bit off the topic but:

I'm only familiar with the G05s since that is all I have driven. The ride quality without the air suspension is very good but the ride with it is outstanding. This is based on the 20" wheels for both. I think you will find that most, if not all, who have the air suspension will tell you the same.

There are also those who won't touch it with a stick because the want a very firm, taught ride and think the air suspension is floaty. I have never experienced that, in fact the air suspension tightens things up a bit on Sport mode. I don't really but any stock in anyones opinion of floaty, tight, firm, etc. since a lot of that is personal preference and what a person is used to driving.

i know the G90s have air suspension.

I brought this up because I've always...always...gotten Eibach or H&R sprints (just 1" - 1.5" lower) on all of my cars. I've mainly done it for the aesthetics and setting up the stance of the car (remember I said and inch to an inch and a half, not a 2"-3" drop - which I think is too much). With my SQ5, I was able to take it to a programmer who lowered it 1.25" and now I can still control the ride height (from Dynamic to Offroad - raising and lowering the car from inside the cabin as needed) without affecting the overall ride of the car or being stuck with it just being lowered. I'm not concerned about the longevity of an air suspension...I won't have this car more than 2-3 years. But if I have people in the car or have to pick up a bunch of people from the airport, etc...I don't want the car to be slammed and ride like a track car. That is why I'm asking and why I now LOVE this feature so much...and to TurtleBoy's point...this is now very likely a must have for me. Also looking at the 2020 Q7 which will be coming out in the coming months as well, but likely much more expensive than the GV80 and less bang for your buck.

I did the same thing with our ‘13 Q7 S-Line (S4/S5 engine). My Audi guy lowered it...and I was still able to adjust it how I wanted.

Actually came in handy when we got 18” of snow one year. Raised it to the top...and we were on our way no problem!!

There are options of adaptive suspension that currently is on the X5 so that’s probably why it feels very nice. I think that’s what Genesis has or if they don’t should offer it in new models as another suspension upgrade. Personally I like it and how it gets fixed whey put it in Sport+ mode. Also individual mode is honestly something that I praise more then just using the tradition comfort, sport, etc.
