  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Spy shots of the long-awaited GV80.

Well www.tirerack.com currently shows 20 different tire choices for the 265/40R22 size.
Do you know if that is going to be the size?
I was looking at narrower sizes, of which there are very few, and pretty much summer only.

That's the size in the brochure and the size of the tires on the cars they rolled out at the announcement.

Gotcha, thanks. That's a wide tire! My wife's CX-5 (a bit smaller vehicle) wears only a 225 section width.

I thought the opposite when I saw the size and thought they were thin since my 20s are 275. I guess they are geared more towards luxury rather than sport/handling. The X5's 22's are 275 in the front and 315 in the rear and the GLE uses the same on its 21s.

Wading capability up to 50 cm (19.7").
Surround view on a cell phone.
Voice recognition on windows and trunk, too.
Handwriting recognition.
Turn on your home lighting from the car...

Cool!

Really like the design of the gv80, now I am hoping they come out with a sport package and in that they provide wider tires, just like the X5, GLE and cayenne. 265 is too thin on 20’s, especially 22’s. I will be very disappointed if Genesis does not provide a sport package option at one point

So you mean like next year? Doesn't look like it's coming this year.

Wasn't it about a year (after the G80 launch) for the G80 Sport to arrive?

In this Motor Trend article Albert Biermann says he would love to see a GV80 sport but they are "not in a hurry for that".

I would assume that means not in the second model year yet either. Maybe at refresh time in 3-4 years.

I think they have put their eggs in this basket for now. Since I'll be a new adaptor (if this is indeed the way I go), I don't mind the sport not being out for the first few years. They will also need to work out any kinks and also assess the demand in each market.

I wonder if they want to get the GV90 out before releasing a sport version. Right now, THIS is their only SUV and they went luxury with a bit of sportiness. Once the GV90 get's released, it will become their luxury vehicle. Then they can change up and offer a sport version of the 80 in addition to this version and round out the high end luxury, mid luxury and sport models. I would think at that point, they would then be able to release their smaller GV70 in sport and mid lux modes.

I wonder if they go towards the more upscale 90 market before the 70. Seems like you guys have said 70 first and if so, maybe that's when they do the Sport version. Fun to talk about, but I want this out as soon as they can in the US, lol.

^ there is no GV90. And there won’t be for years until they test the market.

GV70, new G80 and electric are all next.
