  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Starting a knowledge base for negotiating and getting the best Genesis deal.

I'd add using Overstock.com for Cars, located here:

http://cars.overstock.com/?referrer_id=ZOSCOHP0001&TID=ShoppingHeader:Cars

A great way to help you narrow down the competitve internet pricing as a pre-cursor to reaching out to which dealers you want to try to negotiate with. And highly recommend negotiating online / via e-mail before you head down to an actual dealer location.

Ask for Leslie in the internet dept. She almost sold me mine (3.8) a couple weeks ago. (I found a dealer that would match their price 3 hours closer to home.)

if you post the link i will order it right now. i am sure it's bs

Click on the link and then just complete the search fields. It was there. Might be gone now but I'm not BS'ing you.

I saw your link and even though the pricing was strange, it was reasonable to the circle pricing for R-spec if it ever shows in www.hyundaicircle.com
Given that 2012 4.6 is going a bit less than 41k before rebates, R-spec near 43k isn't farfetched idea. However the problem is that the demand will be too great for them to sell it for circle pricing.

Hello all. First-time poster. I just wanted to share my purchasing experience for any prospective buyers. My wife and I purchased a 2012 3.8 w/ tech package on July 4th. We ended up paying around 37k (before TTT and fee). I say around b/c my goal when I went in the dealership was to trade my 2004 Volvo s60 in and have a $30k difference. According to KBB, my car was worth around $7k. The difference I paid was 30,500. In addition to the car, I secured re-badging (still hasn't happened yet and I am wondering if the dealership is trying to weasel out). Before getting this deal, I went to TrueCar, but it wasn't much help on the new 2012s. I didn't expect to get the deal I was looking for and ended up having to walk out of 2 separate dealerships (one of which was 2 hours away from my house) for various reasons before finding a third that would do the deal. The main take-aways from my experience were:
-do not hesitate to walk out...even if there is a decent deal on the table. It will be good tomorrow (or the next day).
-some dealerships will give you bs internet prices that they really can't honor. Use it as negotiating leverage with the dealerships that are in your area and that shoot straight(er).
-Finally, my experience is that December is the time of the year to buy a Hyundai (or any car for that matter). There are larger incentives for the dealership to play with. I fully expected to wait until December, but ended up getting what I considered to be a fair price on a model car that had just been released...so I took the plunge.

Hope this helps. Good luck.

Maybe I'm just naive but I don't see the advantage of TrueCar with these vehicles. Here in N. Texas the pricing that I see with Circle clearly beats anything I've seen posted for a comparable car through TrueCar, or Zag for that matter.

Then the $43,000 "R" spec is gone. I saw it as others have on this forum. The one you see is in stock. The one i was referring to had a little "on order" badge.

looking for an r spec i saw the same thing you did. i will say however when you get into the fine print i think they will be able to weasel out of the internet price given they state includes mfr rebates, and whole bunch of other ones. they make it sound like just show up and "THIS IS THE PRICE INCLUDING DESTINATION, CHECK OTHER DEALERS OUT AND THEY DON'T INCLUDE DESTINATION" but typical bs. they do show the invoice price which is nice but nothing we can't get (and way beyond that shows the holdback/ad fees etc.) on other sites.

btw, they only showed 1 V8, Titanium or platinum iirc, rest were on order (unless they came in overnight?)

bandit, check this out...

The Delivered Prices include manufacturer rebates and incentives available to all consumers. You may qualify for additional rebates and incentives such as college graduate, military or owner loyalty.

what a contradictory statement don't you think??

as usual lol..

someone (bored enough) should call them and get this cleared up, would be great to hear what they are pulling with those two sentences lol..

Just a FYI:

When I found my Genny... it was @ Fitzmall (Gaithersburg, MD - CPO '09 Tech)... responding to their internet sales price. That is the price I worked with and whittled down.
Fitzmall's advertising claim... there are no hidden costs - normally car + tax + tags + doc fee... unless negotiated differently.

Thanks for sharing that.

I did not buy my car-'12 V6 w/ premium- from Fitz because I got a fairly local dealer to meet their price. I gave a credit card to Fitz. for a deposit to hold an inbound car and worked out the local deal.
At the point I was dealing with Fitz- I had an OTD door price agreement that included tax ,$499 dealer fee and $170 for tags and their internet price matched up like it said. They faxed me the proposal sheet with my total.
I did call them and question the $1500 rebate in addition to their price and then emailed a complaint to Hyundai Corporate in California. Fitz. said it was an error and was already included. Hyundai's answer was the typical "thank you for your concern bs.
Bottom line is it would have been nice to get the extra $1500 but nobody- except C.C.- could even get within $1600 of Fitz' price. My local dealers didn't believe anyone would sell me the car at Fitz' price. Wrong!

Fitz is still showing an R-Spec for $42,879 on their website. It is destined for their Clearwater, Florida dealership. They called me yesterday to let me know the car had arrived at the port and they expect it at the dealership within a week or two.

^^^^^^
You see that Tony? There's still an opportunity for you to get it.
