  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

steering column memory

stupid question, i know, but how do i check the version of the maps?

Thanks for the tips. Will address on next oil change. Perhaps I was a little harsh on Garden Grove Hyundai. They were very nice but just could not fix the problem and I still don't understand why they did not want to address the TSB. Does anyone know if replacing the switch actually solves the problem?

It's really not the user-side switch, but rather, the TSB addresses the limit switches that are part of the mechanism (both telescopic and tilt).

Allegedly (and I think I said this before) the TSB applies to all Genesis sedans with tilt/telescopic steering, so MY suggestion would be to contact another dealer who is less prone to saying "we can't find anything wrong" and is willing to take the vehicle at your word and do the fix. If not, my best suggestion is to film the problem actually happening when you start the vehicle (for instance if it's not moving to its stored position) or show that when you try to manually move the mechanism, it doesn't behave.

Then you can show the service writer or manager your problem happening so they can't deny that something is wrong.

Good luck!

You can access information about your system by going through the Navigation system menus to check versions, or alternatively you can directly enter the S/W update menu by simultaneously pressing:
DISC/AUX
BACK
NAVI/ MENU buttons while pressing the VOL KNOB.

I know that sounds like a claw maneuver, but it does work.

I've had the same problem with the steering wheel creeping out of adjustment. I couldn't replicate the problem for service so I finally just disabled the feature. I don't miss it that much.

But I did find that just touching the shift lever stops both the seat and steering wheel from moving in to position. You don't have to shift out of Park for it to stop.

I just had my tilt mechanism replaced for the 2nd time this past week, and have also considered disabling the auto-exit feature for the wheel should this start happening again.

my 2010 4.6 with Tech package is an April 2010 build date and I have not had any problems-Amp head-tilt-Nav or anything. I wonder if they did an inline retro on all 2010's after a certain build date.
