  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Steering Wheel Buttons acting weird

I was also a victim of the broken voice control issue. I decided to try sign up for XM before taking it to the dealer. When I called XM to renew my service I found out my trial subscription was still active, it just didn't work in my car. The service rep sent out a refresh signal and 10 minutes later both my XM and voice control were back. I think that's proof positive that two things are related.

And after you turn off the car for a few minutes, your XM will be gone...

If it's within three hours of the rep sending out the refresh, it'll come back - I think during the three hour period, XM sends out the refresh signal every 15 minutes.

XM definitely was the cause for me. Problem started the day the free 1 year trial ran out, and then when I renewed last week, problem magically disappeared. Amazing
