I've seen where a number of folks have replaced the steering wheel air bag in order to have the wings logo. After purchasing the birdie for the kiddies, I don't have enough $ for a new air bag, so
I removed the "H" logo today, and it was pretty straight forward. There are 6 insertion tabs which are part of the "H" that go through the cover to the back of the plastic air bag facing. They are located at:
If you start to gently pry off the H at the sides, and work your way near but not quite to a pin location, you can then cut that part of the metal H off, leaving a small amount of the H right at the pin location for later removal. Maybe do this all the way around. Then you can carefully use jewlers screwdrivers and a very fine forceps like plier, expand out the curved form metal of the remaining H, and remove the tabs.
You will note that the taps have arms on them, so slotting them to one side, while doing a 'stretch' on the slot in the cover, will allow the tab to be pulled out intact.
