  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Hey guys. Last night on my way back I hit a small pot hole, I heard. So i pulled over to the side, check the tires and everything seemed fine.

Until this morning I was driving and felt the sterring wheel was a bit stiffer when turning. Do you think the pothole damaged something in my car? Will the damage be permanent?

I will be passing by the dealer next 2 weeks for my next oil change but until then I will have to drive around like this. It ain't bad but just wondering if it's okay to drive around like this and since it's a bit stiffer than normal. Anyone had this problem too or similar and had it fixed?

I would have alignment checked tomorrow at a brand name tire dealer if you cannot get to the car dealer. You could ruin front tires in two weeks if the alignment is out of spec. or something is damaged.

Done! moved it to Thursday!

No experience like this with my Genny, but something similar happened to my old Civic. Hit a monster pothole and the steer felt off and picked up a high-speed wobble. Had the front end aligned and tire rebalanced for good measure and the problem was solved.

Mine doesn't shake or anything....just stiff. I checked the steering wheel fluid and they look fine. I don't know what this might have caused this. Maybe damaged the springs in the front tire? One side feels stiffer than the other one for sure. Tire pressure were fine too. Hopefully it's safe to drive until i find what the problem is.

Does it feel like the power steering module is off completely, or just partially?

I say partially. After driving it it feels like I've worked out my arms. lol

Doesn't sound like you have what I had... But here it is, just in case:

Wow thanks! just read everything and hopefully mine doesn't get worse! At some point it kind of felt stiffer i suppose? but yeah...mine is still new! only 6800 miles on it....and funny thing the dealer wanted me to do tire rotation...REALLY? already? seems like they just want $$$. Anyways, i will have this checked out.

Thanks again for your post! really opened my views on my problem! ;)
