  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Steering Wheel Radio Controls Work "backwards"

Not trying to start an argument, Ed, so I guess I'll drop it.

I really am amazed, that nobody else sees this as an issue, if they have a 2022. Really. And no matter what is said, it is NOT normal radio behavior.

As I said, my 2019 was "UP" button, went "up" the dial, or to the right.

Like when you physically turn the radio dial. To the RIGHT. You go UP.
When you click the 'lever' UP, you go down.

I guess my point is:

My '09 Genesis: Click the wheel button UP - you went "UP" in stations" or "to the right" on the horizontal radio.
My 2016 G80: Click the wheel button UP - you went "UP" in stations" or "to the right" on the horizontal radio.
My 2019 G70: Click the wheel button UP - you went "UP" in stations" or "to the right" on the horizontal radio.
My 2022 G70: Click the wheel button UP - it goes DOWN in stations" or "to the left" on the horizontal radio.

Ed. Tomorrow, in your G80. While radio is in full screen mode (not half-map) ...
Thumb the control switch on your steering wheel radio control up, and watch what it does, now, imagine it did the exact opposite. Imagine it goes in the opposite direction of yours. That's my issue with the '22 radio.

Anyway, that's enough of this topic. Thanks for letting me discuss it
Does anyone else find this absolutely stupefying and frustrating?????

On the steering wheel radio controls, to change stations:

• You click up on the switch, the radio station goes 'down' the dial
• You click "down" on the switch, the radio station goes "up" the dial

NO CAR in my entire 30+ years of driving has EVER done this.
None of my other 3 Genesis Models did this -

Only THIS one.

Am I the only one?
I’ve looked and looked on how to reverse this, I can’t figure it out, did you figure out a solution?

You can't. The good news after the new software update, where the stations are now shown on the left side, is the up button goes up the list, and the down one down, so there's at least some logic to it now. Ha ha. You could also swap the volume and tune knobs, like I did, where turning the knob to the right goes up, and left down, which is more logical. I don't remember if you can change the knob to just presets, however.

Just update the infotainment, you can find it on the genesis website.

Not sure if it applies to your car, but newest update on 21 G90 goes back to old way. Up is up and down is down.
