  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Sterling Blue Metallic

It's whatever came from the dealer... not a special order.

He was probably asking if you had 50% tint on your windows.
I guess you don't. :D

It must have been the shade that made it look like a tint.

Try a little Goo-Gone. Make sure you get the regular stuff, not the Extreme version. Available at most stores such as Walmart, etc.

Best stuff ever for removing adhesive residue, etc., is Oil-Flo. This is what the pros use to remove solar film - it dissolves the gook without harming the finish.

Sterling Blue glitters amazingly in the Sun. Was my first choice too, before i ended up with Black.

Ha! Two colors I simply can't own are black and red. Black because its too high maintenance, red because it draws too much attention. The level of unwanted attention from law enforcement was too great with my previous red cars for me to buy another!

After spending endless hours of detailing my black Corvette, I swore to myself that I'd never ever get another black car.

No other color looks better when clean, but no other color is that difficult to maintain at the same time.

I love my silver. The only color choice I had in mind were Platinum Metallic and Titanium.

This happened with me as well - the majority of the tape was left on the car - too much for Goo Gone to lift. Patience and a finger nail are you best tools - it takes time, but do it correctly and you'll love the results!

Fwiw, the Genesis lettering basically fell off in my hand compared to how difficult the H badge was to remove. You should have an easier time of it.

Well, it didn't "fall off in my hand" but it did come off eventually. Only about half the tape stuck to the car, but that tape was still a bit of a PITA to remove.

The final result (P.S. I don't know why my pic links aren't working. I'm posting from the gallery.....ahhhh, fixed it. I was posting album.php instead of picture.php)

Until about two months ago, I had never seen a Sterling Blue Genesis. I've seen a lot of Genesis' on the road, but never a Sterling Blue.

Two months ago, I saw a "used" 09 Sterling Blue 4.6, sitting on the back lot at my Orlando dealer. It had the Winged Emblems front and rear, and Gold PAINTED Pin Stripes. Car was beautiful but very dirty. There was "Auction Paint" on the windshield. Asked dealer about the car, and nobody knew anything about it, other than it did not belong to the dealer and that whoever it belonged to was going to send it to the auction. We figured that it probably was a Hyundai Exec car. Well, after three weeks or so, it was no longer there. Nobody knows where it went. I asked their Genesis Technician if he did any work on it, and he said no, he never touched it.

Ever since then, I've been checking Autotrader.com, and cars.com, and others, looking for it. I look country wide, just asking for used 4.6 Sterling Blue or just 4.6 Blue (the other blue). To date, I have not been able to find it.

I would love to buy it "for my wife". Its just a beautiful color.

Also, I still have not seen a Sterling Blue on the road or even on dealer lots for that matter.
