Sunroof Rattle

I can hear a mild rattle in the sunroof when going over bumps. Going to take it into the dealer. Anyone else notice this? I can only hear it when the head liner is open.

Yup - same here with my 3.8 AWD Ultimate. Was supposed to drop off last week to hopefully diagnose/fix, but something came up so it's going in on Monday. Since you have it too, it might be a design flaw? Other than this annoying issue, I love the car - but I need this issue to be eliminated in a $50K car!!

I get the rattle open (both tilted or fully slid open) or closed - seems to be coming from the front area where the headliner rolls up. The weird thing is that fro the drivers seat it sounds like it's coming from the passenger side, but from the passenger seat, it sounds like it's coming from the drivers side?

I started to notice the sunroof rattle with sunroof closed and headliner open. Doesn't rattle with headliner closed and sunroof closed or headliner open and sunroof tilted or open. I can make it stop by pressing up on the headliner when the headliner is open and the sunroof is closed, Haven't said anything to the dealer yet. 2010 3.8 with 38k miles.

I have the same issue and the source sound does move depending on where you are sitting. It is driving me nuts.

My rattle is definitely not sunglasses because it happens when I am wearing them. I can make it stop by applying pressure to the headliner itself. Not quite as annoying as my squeaky rear windows in my G35 Sedan.

I have a 2012, that had a similar rattle, only when the liner was pulled back. Turned out it was the rubber accordian fan things on each side of the window. They had come unattached, and where flapping around.

As someone that's on the fence of buying the car, this does not inspire confidence at all.

In addition to the rattle, we have at least one instance of shattered sunroof. Hyundai Veloster and Kia Sorento had problems with sunroof shattering as well.

The service tech reattached the flaps, they've been good since. Nothing was broke, they just came un-attached.

Anyone with a 2015 had this problem fixed? My 2015 3.8 Ultimate has this rattle as well. I'm taking it to the dealer on Wednesday. Thankfully, they're giving me a loaner car.

I have an annoying rattle since I bought my car (3 months). It wouldn't happen all the time. Sometimes when I hit a bump or crack or when I would go down a driveway at an angle. It always seemed like it was coming from back of the car.

Had the car at the service center 3 times, and they could never resolve it. Yesterday I drove for the first time with the sunroof tilted open. Poof, rattle gone! Not even at the exit of my driveway where it is the loudest and clearest.

Glad I was able to diagnose the problem. Atleast now I can tell the service center where to look at. Appointment on Saturday.

Not yet only have 1215 miles on it. Have only used the top once to test.
This is very reminiscent of some issues that plagued the first Generation of which my 2011 did inherit but were promptly sorted out by the advice on this forum.

Mine creaks. Not really a rattle. But it has the same symptoms as described here.
