Thanks for the tip. I tried this in California and the Ioniq5 shows up on the Tesla app but it will not populate with charging stations. It does not appear that Hyundai has access to the Tesla Supercharges in my area just yet.

My experience was in LaQuinta, CA.

You do have to tell the app that you have an NACS-CCS adapter…

I did tell the app I had an adapter for the Ioniq 5 and it still would not populate the app. Then I inputted the Ioniq 6 and it populate the app.

I did swing by a local Telsa station this evening. Unfortunately, it was full. Well, not completely full, but there were only 3 stalls available, and none of them were next to each other. Since this was a v3 station, none of the 3 available stalls would have worked because of the short cables. I might have been tempted to wait because I really would like to verify whether it works, but my wife was with me and absolutely was not interested in waiting for even one second! So I'll try again another day (the closest Tesla stations are 15-20 minutes from me, so if I make a special trip it will take nearly an hour). BTW it's now about 3 hours later, I just checked the Tesla app and that station still has 17 out of 20 stalls in use, at 10:30 PM. So jammed up just like most of the EA stations around here. Good thing I have home charging.

I have the A2Z Typhoon adapter, btw. Of course I can't verify that it works yet, but all the online reviews are good.

Thanks for trying. If it is of any consolation, I doubt anyone's better half would be willing to wait around at a Tesla Charger station for an open charger unless you absolutely needed to.

Probably why they are referred to as our better half.

With my Genesis in the Tesla app, I only showed the one magic dock charger. I tried adding an Ioniq5, and no change. I then deleted the GV60, and suddenly, a slew of Supercharger locations appeared. I obviously selected yes to the adapter.
I was very surprised at the pricing discrepancy between chargers and felt the need to map it. I did not check them all, but the ones closest to my location are Wawa's, and I was shocked to see such a discrepancy. Is this true in all geographies?
All prices are peak, although interestingly, the three stations I checked in NJ did not have peak pricing, just a flat rate. When I rented a Tesla in FL last time, I recall pricing being about the same in an area, but Palm Beach was different than Miami or Melbourne.

I need this so badly after my recent trip. Almost got stranded during the cold snap just one "tank" away from home in the middle of the night. I am truly sick of CCS, especially in Canada. Our highway rest stop IvyCharge thing is trash-tier.

Today there are multiple reports that Tesla has disabled the ability of Kia's being able to charge at a Supercharger by pretending they are Hyundai's. I don't know for sure, but I imagine this also applies to the GV60. I also saw a report that Hyundai's also lost this ability. I wonder if this even applies to the brand new Ionic 5's that have a J3400 port. That would suck.

We're doing another road trip this coming weekend - 250-ish miles each way, including skirting Los Angeles Thursday and Sunday. While I'd like to take the GV60 for its comfort, at this point I'm thinking I'm not willing to chance charging access issues, especially on Sunday.

Tesla Supercharger access would have made all the difference for this trip.

There are SO MANY Supercharger locations, AND each location has a minimum of 8 chargers, so rarely an issue with a wait, even on busy travel days.

Sigh.

All the evidence I see is that we're waiting for Tesla, not Genesis. We know that the cars already work with Superchargers, but Tesla software arbitrarily refuses to charge these cars. It really feels like this is about Elon letting everyone know he's the boss.

Welp, for various reasons we decided to take the GV60 for this road trip anyway. I feel fortunate to be able to report that our first EA session went off without a hitch. Despite the fact that 2 of the 6 chargers in front of the Wal-Mart in Santa Clarita CA were out of service, and that the station showed “full” on the EA app for much of our drive, to our relief when we arrived there were 2 open 350KW chargers!

Plugged in and charging started right away, peaked at 233KW and all in all a very easy experience.

One odd thing is that the both the car and the charger itself reported that the session ended at 90% SOC (where I’d set the limit), but the app showed 88%.



Our return trip Sunday may be the real litmus test - we’ll see whether we’ll have to wait for a charger.

Oh and the car’s highway range pencils out to 211 miles, spot on Car & Driver’s 75 mph, 210-mile range test result.
