  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Suspension Issue - A new take

I've been wondering, did either of you swap the existing 09 suspensions on your cars with other 09 parts to see if there is any improvement?
I have not. That seems like a waste of time and money. Although it "might" yield slightly better results, it would not be as good as 2010 parts.

I think people need a little patience concerning availability of 2010 parts, and it does not help when people are antagonistic toward HMA and try to force their hand, especially before the 2009 units are all sold. HMA has already had to stop advertising the new suspension improvements for 2010, and it is a very sensitive issue with dealers right now.

I did. I personally rebuilt the entire front suspension -- bushings, upper/lower control arms, springs and struts. The difference was negligible.
Some reports have stated that only the rear shocks and springs were changed for 2010. Based on my observation of the issue, that would make sense.

The changes in the rear are probably softer springs, and stiffer shocks (to compensate for softer springs). Shocks are a much more sophisticated damping device than springs.

How's your Lexus?

It's great, thanks! :D The payment on the other hand....

They sold the Genesis I traded and the new owner is reportedly happy, so that just goes to show much of the issue is subjective.

Glad you're happy with your Lexus. I miss getting a loaner at my Lexus dealer. With that said, the LS is probably the only car in Lexus' lineup that interests me. It's REALLY well made and plush. Compared back to back with the Genesis it's obviously better built (the doors in particular feel more substantial). Don't get me wrong, I love my Genesis, but if I had LS money I'd probably never look at the Genesis. Maybe the Equus though. ;) Either way, be sure to keep us posted how things go as the miles rack up.

....back on topic. :)

Try and keep this short and constructive.

If the ride issue is sensitive to the dealer or the company and I am sure anything not glowing is, they could but out the fire with only a small bit of water. eg. "Hey give us a chance we will take care of it, if you shut up and accept in writing that the adjustment is only for customer satisfaction and not for defect"

I bought a new "S" class in 2000 that they replaced with a new car after 6 months because I was dissatisfied with the performance of the AC unit. They did it for 'Keeping a customer happy and coming back"

I think that would make a lot more sense and fair and be better for Hyundai that having some sell their car take thousands of loss and forever hate Hyundai.
