  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Suspension vs Manufacture Date Survey

Manufacture Date : Dec 2008
Suspension: Acceptable, but is harsh/bouncy on uneven pavement.
Model: V8 Tech

Even though you said acceptable I will put you down as Unacceptably Harsh based on your description unless you object

If you have nothing to add stay out of this survey.... If you wish to post your info please do
I have posted my info (including build date and engine) many times previously.

There is too much emotion on this issue to get accurate results, because many people will tell you the suspension is good or acceptable even though it performs exactly the same way as it does for those who complain. We even had one member who thought the suspension was good, who met up with Doug to test drive his car and determined it rode exactly like his own car.

Others who prefer a firm ride are afraid that a fix will be a soft ride, and so they will say they like it the way it is now even it the suspension has problems on rough roads.

Should we take this as Unacceptablly Harsh? Thats what I will do unless I hear from you

Yes, go ahead. Unacceptably harsh.

As an example, today, we drove the 02 Continental and I went over a very bumpy road, plus a RR Track crossing, that I take almost every day with the Genesis. (I hate that bumpy strech of road, and I normally move the car way to the right on the RR Track to go over the smoothest part, but this time, with the Continental, I just went over the roughest part of the RR Track crossing). The Continental takes the bumps great. The Genesis "jars me to the bone" on both of these places. (Smooth roads are great with both cars).
My wife does not want to take another long trip in the Genesis because "it rides like a truck"! (her words, not mine). The next long trip together will be in the Continental. If I go alone, it will be in the Genesis. Should not be like that, but thats the way it is.

Thats ok, I'll just live with it as I love almost everything else about the car plus I know that Hyundai will not do anything it.

v8 October 2008, purchased jan 2009.

great ride.

I drive poor to bad pavement in MN, (secondary roads) but no potholes.

This may not be scientific, but it's a start. Please indicate your Manufacture Date ( you can find it on the body when you open the driver door) and whether you find the Suspension Unacceptably Harsh or Acceptable............ for purposes of this survey we will leave out " The suspension is not harsh but could be better" since this is more subjective. What we are looking for is if there is a correlation between Manufacture Date and Harsh Suspensions.

Also, you may as well state if you have the V6 or V8

I will start

Manufacture Date : July 2008
Suspension: Acceptable
Model: V6 Tech

Manufacture date: Nov 24, 2008
Suspension: Unacceptable

A simple Unacceptably Harsh would suffice for purposes of this survey :) Thanks for your participation
