When you park in a remote spot in the parking lot, some of these a$$hats will park so close to you that you can't get your door open, just to be obnoxious (at least I've seen that here in the DC/Balto area).SO TRUE! I can park 100 feet from the closet car in the lot and when I come back there is always some twit right next to me. Must be some sort of strange flocking/herding instinct...

Another approach is to park between two high end cars that are in great condition, especially if you can tell that they're driven by employees who are likely to have similar hours. I also look for spots where there's a passenger door on both sides of me. Most people at work drive alone, so there's less chance of door dings. Of course, obstructions like posts on one or both sides are even better.
