On the Drudge Report this morning, I read an interesting story about Tesla's "full self-driving" technology and how--to get access to that technology--Tesla owners will have to pay $10,000 to gain access to a feature that is already built-into their vehicles, but not activated. (Some, presumably older, vehicles will have to have the software installed before it can be accessed, for a cost of an additional $1,500.) In the article, there is a video that explains exactly what is meant by Tesla's use of the words, "Full self driving". According to the video, we owners of newer Genesis vehicles already have the equivalent of Tesla's 'full self driving' technology.
Here's a link to the story if you're curious: Tesla owners can now request ‘Full Self-Driving’, prompting criticism from regulators and safety advocates
The video is about half-way down the page....
For those of you who know more about this than I do, please weigh-in and let us know: is the article and video correct? Or is there something that's been left out of the story?
