  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

The Beef's G70

So...I am almost 13 months into ownership. But just a tick over 6k miles. So time for my first service...LOL. I was going to go in the past month...been swamped.

Anyhoo...going Thu or Fri.

Today...I took out my JB4 for the first time. It took a bit longer since I am very anal with keeping it clean. Still took less than 5 min.

Need to run some errands tomorrow...so it will be the first time driving stock since March. Wonder how much slower it will feel !!! This will be a true test of how good the JB4 really feels...and whether I could ever accept a slower car...LOL.

Anyhoo...that is all. Will report back with my dealership experience.

Well, hopefully nobody from the dealership is reading this forum... "ah ha, I know what those dots are for!"

Hmmm...wonder if I should delete that. Still...no way to prove anything.

Lol! I wouldnt take the chance... I'm sure they're trying everything possible to not honor warranty claims.

I'm sure you're fine. I wouldn't worry about it.

Looking forward to hearing what it feels like going to stock...

Just got back from taking care of some stuff. Ended up getting my 1st service today as well.

As for the car's performance...it is amazing. Forgot how nice it is stock. Really fast. Mind you...still running on 99 octane. Not sure how much that adds.

But...with that said....with the JB4 on Map 3...it is amazing². I mean head jolting fast. I will be putting it back as soon as the car cools down...LOL.

Dealer...shitty. But I knew what I was getting into buying the car. Big dealer...no Genesis signage. No idea how they sell any. 6 G70's last month.

I know the GM...so I chatted with him for a while. Even though I didn't buy from them...my yearly inspection ($20) was free. Lord knows I tried to buy from him...but they did not have their dealer license.

So I got my service...no problem. They parked it out front. Forgot to do inspection. So they did that...parked it out front. Apparently they put the wrong sticker. Had to pull it in and fix it. All said and done...I was there just over an hour. No biggie at all.

Did not get my car washed. I would have to wait for another 40 min. F that. If I got a rental or used the Valet service...I would be blind to all of this. So I am not bothered...it's all good.

Dealership is a dump. Whatever. Checked out the Palisade....HOT. Checked out the new Sonata...HOT. Hat a bottled water. Took a pleasant piss. I was on my way.

Map 3 is 500hp and 600 ft/lbs (bhp) according to Burgers Dyno.

Holy crap man!

Where did you get that info?

It's more like ~395whp/465wtq on Map 3, ~97 octane mixture with E85 with JB4 alone, nothing else.

A little bit more for me since I am at 99 octane.

So at the Wheels...398 HP and 469 Torque.
Calculated Crank...~438 HP and ~516 Torque (crank = wheels + 10%)

Update...looking at BMS graphs...I may be at the wheels...434 HP and 519 Torque...but that is with intake. Hmmm.

I never let dealerships wash my cars... no fkn way unless you really like swirl marks and water spots.

Kia / Hyundai Turbo JB4 w/ Fuel Control Wires & Billet Enclosure

BMS Intake, 30% E85, JB4 Map3

434whp
520wtq

15% for drive train (debatable)

434*1.15 = 499bhp
520*1.15 = 598tq

Maybe a bit less if Beef doesn't have an intake and E85 has more octane but close...

Yes, if we had an intake in our cars, we'd be at close to 500hp. I'm perfectly happy with what I have, Map 5 414whp=476hp (~15% power train loss, it could be even more for AWD cars)

Ha ha, yep that would be awesome to have that much power. Your G80 must be a BEAST!

Put my JB4 back in today. Nice and quick...~ 4 minutes.

Took it out for a spin. Um...yeah...what a difference. Slammed my head back and pressed it there!!!

What a mod !!!

That’s all :)
