  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

So the 2010 Genny is 3 weeks old and while I am at a stoplight a lady coasts right into my backend. Of course I am furious. I get out look and see that there appears to be no damage thankfully but I call the police at least for a report. He arrives and we exchange information, he writes the report, and he tells us we are free to go. We thank him and as I am gettting into my car, he calls me back. I am thinking oh crap. He says to me, "this isnt a hyundai is it?" I said yes it is. He says, this is a sweet car...I wasnt for sure what to write down on the report...so I just put genesis. I thought it was a bentley when I pulled up (the car was badged, genesis wording removed, grille replaced) ..he was checking it out, I was telling him about how much I like the car and we were laughing. The lady who hit me could only have been wondering what we were talking about as she was still waiting to pull out. Well the day wasnt going to be that bad afterall.

Great story! Glad to hear there was no damage.

Glad to hear there was no visible damage, but with new bumpers there can be damage to the energy absorbing structure underneath the bumper. You should have the bumper removed and inspected for damage.

Nice compliment from the cop though! :) It's amazing how many people think the Genesis some exotic luxury car (I'm not talking Lexus folks). I've gotten quite a bit of Aston Martin and Bentley comments. I guess it's the emblem. Still love my Gen. :)

I had a similar story.

A state police officer pulled me and two other cars over a few months back. He asked for my registration, then went over to the other cars. Then he came back and asked the standard questions...then he asked me for my registration again. I told him I already gave it to him. He looked at the papers in his hand and said no you didn't, this registration says Hyundai (I rebadged it). He looked up and down over my car until I I had to point to the little Hyundai sticker in the window to finally convince him that it was a Hyundai.

He said nice car, slow down, then let me go......

haha awesome story guys. how old are you both? wondering if age was a factor...

Yesterday a cop followed my wife for about a mile, put his lights and siren on for her to pull over and pulled over in front of her. As he approached the car he really checked it out then had her roll down the window so he could ask what it was. She told him it was a Genesis(rebadged), then he asked her who made it. He told her he had seen it around town and just had to know what it was, asked a couple more questions(cost, engine) and told her she was free to go. I love this car!
