I was going to buy mine without even test driving it after I saw it at the Genesis boutique. They kept offering to bring one over to me to test drive and finally I made time. I talked to my GXM the whole time I drove it and didn't ask a single question about the features. He kept trying to show me stuff but my mind was already made up long before so it was an easy sell!

cool news. C&D is my preferred source of auto journalism (at least as a print media). the G70's accolades are living up to everything i had hoped for when i placed my deposit back in April. at that time i hadn't driven it but liked what i saw on the spec sheet and in person. after driving it in July i knew it was an excellent performer in its own right but i didn't know how it stacked up against its peers. the recent awards are a validation that the G70 is an unquestionable total-package player.

I don't know about jealous or blowing it but they sure aren't on the ball, considering the USA is their largest market.

You know there a couple of old saying quickly comes to mind here; "you scratch mine and I'll scratch yours" or as Clint Eastwood said, "are you trying to spit in my face and tell me it's raining outside?"

This is not something that Genesis can change or even has any control over. Write your state congressperson and save your breath here. Dealers and francises are controlled by state laws.

Yeah...how do you even buy a Tesla? I know VA allows them to sell in the State. There is a dealer/boutique near me in Richmond.

It's basically all online. The boutique can set it all up for you, or you can even do it yourself on their website. Super easy.

But I thought cars cannot be sold direct to consumer in the USA? How the F are they doing that? Just went to the website...it's like buying a Genesis in Canada !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I do remember and I agree - they certainly had to wade through a bunch of crap to get where they are.

It's hard to imagine things being much worse/slower than they are right now, though - and Genesis isn't even doing anything relatively radical with their sales plan.
