  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

The Genesis Lifestyle Video

So since I live in the US I should stop drinking Moosehead beer? The Genesis is marketed to people with a little higher income and that appreciate the finer things in life. It does not matter if you are in Edmonton, Miami, Sydney, the basic market is the same. Genesis is targeting a demographic that can exist in most of the world.

Ed,

Looks like you missed my last paragraph. I had assumed, that these videos were created specifically for the Edmonton market by the local boutique, which would make the majority of our opinions on the videos moot as we are not from that target market. I had also stated that if not locally specific that the videos should be targeted to a broader audience. i.e. emphasize the commonality. These are not national, nor international genesis targeted videos.

Now on the topic of Moosehead beer; even though it is a Canadian beer, which was once brewed locally and our local hockey team is called the Halifax Mooseheads, many in my my local market refer to it as Moose piss, so if you lived here you would be part of a very different demographic than you currently are. No matter where you live, I highly recommend you stop drinking that Moose piss immediately. See what I did there!😉

....
Now if these are meant for dealers to use throughout all of Canada, then they will not work for Nova Scotia, and most likely not for the rest of Atlantic Canada either. The BMW 3 Series, your biggest rival, is marketed to a much broader audience nationally and Genesis Canada should do the same.

I definitely got feedback from my market and the reception has been a lot more positive than that over here. :ROFLMAO:
This I can believe. The response to posted videos in forums (especially videos whose content is geared for a select audience similar to that of a particular forum) tends to run fairly critical and can often skew negative. These criticisms are more prevalent on vids attempting to depict the customer or end user (those videos depicting the specific audience targeted for the product).

Well, it is better than that Bud crap a lot of people here drink. A case lasts us about a year. Its good with pizza but my go to beverage is a G & T or bourbon.

Looking to update and upgrade your Genesis luxury sport automobile? Look no further than right here in our own forum store - where orders are shipped immediately!
Why does the doctor have to be douchey? As a doctor, young one might I add (29), I can see the appeal of this ad. It would have appealed to me even if it wasn't a doctor though so Iong as it was a young professional. I've not been practicing long enough for the McLaren or Porsche though lol. Most of the other doctors that I associate with that are around my age prefer the sporty type and not a G90 type vehicle. I personally wouldn't even consider a G90. I do see vehicles like that driven by the older physicians though. I'm also in the generation that uses Twitter, as well. Go figure. I wouldn't be surprised if a sporty luxury sedan with a good value would be marketed more to that age group than some of the other age groups. It just makes sense. This was a well done ad in my opinion.

Good points!

Remember, Genesis needs to market this car to the 99.9% of their potential customers who don’t have the benefit (and I’m being sincere) of all of you knowledgable dealers, owners and car enthusiasts who already know what a great car the G70 is.

In the past week ran into two people that never heard of Genesis. One was a cop, the other was driving a BMW, part of the target audience. They have a lot of marketing to do.

To be fair, two individuals (target audience or not) who are unaware of Genesis is too small a sample size to determine marketing effectiveness...anymore than two random people in the TA who KNOW about Genesis are signs of a successful campaign.

In the three years of two Genesis, a lot of people have never heard of them. This was two of many, a few in gas stations came over to look. I'm not saying it is a statistical miracle, but I bet a proper survey will show it is one of the least known car brands for sale in North America. I would think a cop would be more aware about cars on the road too. In over 50 years of driving, no one before has ever asked or not heard of what car I was driving, though I never owned a Skoda and that would change the outcome of the survey.

Seriously!! If that's the lifestyle of owninga G70, I'll fly to Canada right now and buy 3 of them immediately... leave it to the Russians to put out some video like that LOL
Rah, rah, Rasputin!!

Here is a nifty vid from Genesis...

Okay, it’s a cute vid. However, the BLANK SHEET OF PAPER referenced reminds me of the list of Genesis dealers in the USA. Exec. VP Fitzgerald should spend more of his time working on that problem.

Could you clarify that a bit. Are you saying there are no Genesis dealers in the US like a blank page. Or are you just trying to force the analogy so you had the opportunity to say something?

I’m sure you can figure it out.
