  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Well! It looks like the Genesis small sedan is almost here! We'll be getting the entry-level Genesis before 2017. So that means we'll see what's going on with this segment of Genesis Motors some time this year. The image above shows a little more information about company plans...

Personally, I think Hyundai is confused about what "near", "mid" and "large" mean. Yes, The G90 is a large luxury sedan. But the G80 is a mid-luxury sedan? No. There's nothing "mid" luxury about it other than size. So what they really mean is "midsize luxury sedan". Not "mid-luxury sedan". So the small SUV and sports coupe aren't actually "near luxury" - they're "luxury". They're just "small" luxury automobiles...

Mercedes-Benz doesn't call their C-Class "near luxury". Somebody needs to get their act together over at Hundar.

I'am very interested in seeing what they do with the G70, powertrains, etc.

Back to the size & class confusion thing again. lol.

I would have put the G80 in Full Size and the G90 of course in Large.

I am also very surprised that they are not going after the full size suv market. The X5/Q7 market is ripe....

Sounds like "lost in translation" or at least not USA English.

Wouldn't get roiled by it.

Mid-luxury was by all accounts meant to be midsize (tho arguably, the G80 isn't actually midsize, but competes in that segment).

Near-luxury was probably meant to be entry-level luxury, which is what the compact luxury segment has commonly been referred to, tho these days, it increasingly has been referred to the CLA/A3 segment (which I regard as the sub-entry luxury segment).

Very interested in the mid luxury suv.
would be awesome if they did a performance version of it with either the 5.0 or the twin turbo v6
I love my 5.0 Ultimate, but thinking that I may go SUV when this lease is up

I'm very interested in the G70 but, perhaps because of that, it seems like its taking forever for any information of consequence to come out. Apart from the concept car at the show many months ago there's been little. And its mid August of 2016 with a supposed launch/available to buy at your local dealership before 2017? Doesn't compute.....

I'm also concerned by the words "set the standard for...eco-friendliness". Rumors seem to be that it will have either the 2.0T or that plus some electric motor power. The 2.0T Hyundai motor isn't that impressive and I'm looking for performance, ie; the 3.3 turbo 6 as a minimum.

As this "drifts along" I'm starting to get this "sinking feeling". Lets get some action going Hyundai!

I think we can forget that road map. According to an interview with Automotive News, Hyundai is instead going to take a year and a half from now before launching anything new (G70). That's 2018 folks

Or maybe they'll just slap some wings on the Sonata and call it a G70 for 2017 ;)
