  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

the new genesis SUV ?

tahoes and suburbans and the like too big? I swear by them. My 04 Yukon XL has not needed a single thing aside from oil changes, brakes and tires. Almost bought another instead of the genesis but decided i didnt need 2 of them.

ya the tahoe's are great and reliable suv's, but the tahoe is a bit big for what i need right now. i already have a 2003 2500 hd gmc sierra crew cab w/ an 8.3 big block to tow my boat. like you, i don't need another big vehicle.

We just bought a 2010 Lexus RX 450h (hybrid) 35k miles, all options certified by a Lexus dealer ( 3 years-100k miles) for 36k, awesome suv and have averaged city/hwy 28 mpg.

probably not, but had Hyundai decided to go w/ a separate brand or luxury division for the genny, a luxury SUV would be a possibility.

at any rate, i'm keeping my genny and going to trade in my camry for a mid size suv. so i'm in the market for a new suv. love the new ml 350 MB but the price is unreasonable (50-59k), not to mention the service cost on those mb's are ridiculous.

still waiting for the new 2014 santa fe's to come in to see if there are any significant upgrades or changes to them. the new ford explorer is also another suv i've been looking at, but ford's warranty is weak, giving you only 3 years or 36k bumper to bumper.

the new kia sorento's are also nice, but when i sat in one, i could feel the seat crossbar. i recall the optima seats back in 2010 being the same way- padding and cushion were inadequate. i'm 6'6 and 245, so i need a good quality seat.

any other suggestions/ i'm all ears.

Interesting. I also am looking for a mid-size CUV of some sort, as my wife's 2004 Buick Rainier now has over 140,00 miles on it. I started out wanting a Jeep Grand Cherokee Overland, but like you, that 3/36 warranty doesn't inspire me. Ford I just don't trust enough to buy one(Had a Mercury Sable self-destruct after 55,000 miles).

We don't need a lot of room, since we are a family of three. So, lately I've been considering certified used models of the newest iterations of the Lexus RX350 and the Acura RDX. I did drive a RX350 and the ride felt a bit busy and jittery compared to the Rainier, but any of these new CUVs is going to feel that way compared to the plush riding Rainier.

Look into the Mazda cx9. We have the grand touring model and its been a perfect SUV. We get 22 mpg combined and a strong v6 and plenty of room....definitely worth a look. Two time motor trend SUV of the year.
