  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

This May be Goodbye for My Gennie

...when I was 1/2 a mile from my exit and on the freeway when a woman behind me dropped her phone and plowed into me trying to pick it up!
Man, that sucks. Some states have banned hand held phone but some idiots think they know better. I hope you end up with a good resolution.

Sorry for your bad luck there, Ryan (and again, Gebop). Cringe-worthy really. 😬

Besides all the lousy drivers out there, this phone crap while driving has gone off the rails. My only bad experience so far was at a stoplight when some young girl rolled into my prior Audi while looking down at her phone - she barely tapped me but I got out, saw no mark and just gave her the stink-eye and finger-wave; the fear on her face was priceless. I now literally honk at people when I see them with their faces buried in their screen...🤯

It's time for some stricter penalties. As you're probably aware, Ed, our FL ban is a joke. Enacted last July, they're supposed to begin ticketing as of 1/1/20, but with fines of $30 first offense and $60 for a second (plus court fees), it seems more a formality than a deterrent. Shameful. 😡

Looking to update and upgrade your Genesis luxury sport automobile? Look no further than right here in our own forum store - where orders are shipped immediately!
Check your insurance policy. You should have "Uninsured Motorist" coverage that would address the hit and run.

160$ in New Jersey I believe if you are in your phone. That is a police state, they have no problem enforcing that law! They should suspend your DL for like 30 days after second offense ? Just my opinion!

It is really annoying to see almost every one on the road on their phones at all times, especially in New Jersey! I cannot wait for that police state you speak of to show up and start pulling people over.

I have uninsured and underinsured coverage. But I'm coming to understand I also have one of the crappiest insurance companies when it comes to customer service with claims adjusters. I have called the claims adjuster no less than three times over the past two days, with no returns phone call after leaving messages. I'm sure that's there tactic. The text that tells me a check is in the mail, also tells me they have no interest in making me happy. Also learned the settement check is made out to myself and my girlfriend, because she lives with me and is covered on my other car that I let her drive -- but both car are still titled solely in my name.

Wish I had done more research on the company prior to the accident. One insurance review site had 61% of the respondents giving them just 1 star out of 5. Safeco Insurance Reviews: 126 User Ratings

I have a family friend that is an attorney that is offering to write a few letters for me. Not sure how much that would help; I'm guessing I've signed an arbitritration clause somewhere along the way. Like that lampooned Pink Floyd line... "all and all it's just another kick in the balls."

I honk at those idiots too... but most of the time they're totally oblivious. Some of the more aware ones gesture that I am "number one" and go back to their regularly scheduled programming.

Have you talked to your agent? He's getting a commission from you, make him earn it.

Good point, Ed. I will reach out to him in the morning.
