  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Hi all,

New to the community and a new owner of 2015 Genesis Sedan.
I recently noticed a ticking noise while driving between 90 - 110 kmph.
Have anyone of you experienced the same?

Zipped file because I was not able to upload the mp4 recording.

Looking forward to hearing from you.

Thank you. :)

Is the noise coming from behind glove box compartment?

I am trying to figure the source of this sound.
I feel it's coming from the passenger side, while my friend (he recorded the video) feels it's coming from the driver's side.
As usual (my reading over the forum so far), the Hyundai technician at my local dealership was not able to find any ticking noise.

Hyundai is even trying to wash their hands before knowing the exact problem.

Let's see. In a week I might show it to another dealership where my friend has received much better service.

Thanks.

I had a similar noise, sounded like 2 empty cd cases clanking together. Took it up to 125mph for a couple miles and noise went away.

I have found this ticking only between 90 and 110 kmph.
Just got back from the dealership, and to resolve the second issue Hyundai is going to replace the complete transmission on my car.
the second issue was - I was feeling jolts while the automatic transmission shifts from gear 2 to 3 and another jolt shifting from 6 to 7.
The technician is going to see again at the ticking noise issue when the new tranny is being tested.
Hopeful to get this resolved soon.

Turns out, it was my sunglasses making that ticking noise inside the small cubby (near rearview mirror).
No more glasses, no more noise.
@Kraig Wilkinson and @Andyj I did gun it to 180kmph... this machine can easily pull. Was fun.
Thanks, everyone for their contribution.

Cheers
