  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Time to say goodbye...

actually. the 2013 m5 will do 0-60 in less than 3.7 sec and 1/4 mile 11.9. that's what MT got while testing the m5 a few months ago. a total tech beast the m5 is. the 550 with the dinan 3rd stage will get 4.4 sec 0-60. so when it comes to performance, i don't think it's fair to even compare the 2.

I would'nt really compare the Hyundai to those others at this point.. however keep in mind Hyundai is'nt really breaking it's back to put up a challenge.. and it is the first effort they farted out.. and Motor Trend got around 4.7 for the R-Spec Sedan.. which comes loaded I believe for the price quoted earlier.

A 550i after you put all the package options on it. would be ?? plus the engine mod's you are referring to.

Is this the record setter for the longest goodbye thread and is jailer really still reading this ?

It's called hijacking. :)

But it is a good discussion. He had mentioned that he was giving up his Genney for a BMW so the discussion is still somewhat revelant. ;)

The Current "Best Driver" is actually the CTS-V. The updated M F10 is a little quicker but the feel is diminishing just like this new F30 that is getting slammed. Check around in the mags.. you will see how it does as an old model against this new F10.. even without it being updated. The AMG also beats the BMW's quite often from what I remember.
I read MotorTrend, AutoWeek, Car and Driver, Road and Track, and Consumer Reports. It depends a lot on which one you read and when you read it. MotorTrend is heavily biased against BMW. C&D and R&T are biased toward BMW. AutoWeek tends to be somewhere between the two. CR is all over the place. IMHO, AW, C&D, and R&T seem to be more consistent in their presentation of data and observations from their data. IMHO, MT tends to be a little more elastic in their opinions and repeatable measures. AMG rarely beats BMW M in much more than acceleration and a couple other point measures. CTS-V is a recent leapfrog, but I a waiting to see if the opinion lasts more than one issue.

All i can say is am please with my new 2013 Genny so far but they can improve. Suspension has been Hyundai's weakest point they been playing with it for a long time. 2014 Genny should answer the question. If the car looks like a Benz, drives like a BMW and feels like Lexus inside i would expect it to be at least 60% close to what it copies from :) If the ride and handling is made similar to BMW i bet no one can beat this beast on Road.

For those saying the Genney dosen't hug the road, maybe you need to try changing tires. ;) I did and it made a big difference in handling twisty mountain roads. :)

GJEMD, what you state is unacceptable. I don't know why anyone would want to put up with that type of bussiness practice. I work in test and Evaluation for Navy Combat Systems. And if that was the thought we had, I'd feel sorry for the guys going into harms way. So why would it be Ok to build a car company that way? Espically if your speending that kind of money on one. If it dosen't work, then fix it before you put it on the market.

What I stated is as close to the truth as an insider can provide. My son left
BMW in 2011 because the warranty work was overwhelming the Technicians. The way they pay for warranty labor is much less than all the other work that's billed. Like wise if you're pulling a dash that's about the only work you'll do that day.
He has been at Acura since and does well regardless of the type of work. ACURA has had their challenges in the last few yrs, like
major transmission issues on several models. They don't squeeze the technicians.
