  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Tips on getting a "new" Genesis

Empire State. Love the color and all of the technology! The auto headlights, HUD and automatic cruise are my favorite features 200 miles in.

Picked it up tonight for 27,749. An exhausting day!

I think you did good. Enjoy the ride. Negotiating a car is more exhausting than mountain climbing.

I think my boss is ready to ding me for my annual review if I don't stop talking about GETTING a new car, and actually BUYING a new one. ;)

I'm really hooked on Ibiza blue, although Montecito is a solid #2. That local non-Hyundai dealer has that used 5.0 Tech in Ibiza blue. My Hyundai guy is looking for a blue V6 tech for me. WAS there an Ibiza blue non-ultimate v6 in 2015? If not, I'll have to decide on whether I want CarPlay with a V8 or Ultimate with a V6. Not wild about the gas mileage on the V8, but I've heard good things about how it drives.

That local dealer is asking $30k for the 5.0, with 30k miles on it. It's also got a cracked lens on one of the headlights. The sales manager said "We'll sell it to you cheap enough to make up for the fuel difference!" If my guy can't find me something better by the end of next month, if that car's still sitting in their lot, I might try offering him $25k to "take it off his hands." And then call my dealer (and maybe Jim Ellis) to get an extended warranty. Wonder what a replacement lens costs?

Some one posted in a thread recently (G80?) on the exorbitant cost of front lens replacement as it is all one unit ($2k?)...

Good to know...$25k and he has to replace that lens. (I'm guessing I won't be making a deal) ;)

I am about to pull the trigger on a 2015 Genesis Ultimate package with HTRAC. It has <30,000 miles and a price of $25,000. I think this is a pretty good deal, thoughts…

Price is decent. My dealer sold mine with 39k on it for $27,000. Overall, it is a great car.

Thanks for the feedback, I am sure I will enjoy the car.

Decent price. I would try for a little more.

I've been scanning Autotrader and Hyundai's CPO website for a few weeks (got nothing better to do, LOL) and that seems like a very good price. I haven't actually tried to negotiate with a dealer, but it seems like the asking price for that kind of car would be in the $27-28k range. What was the dealer's original price?

Then negotiate the fees into the car price. If he's not going to budge, then they can waive the acquisition fee (which can be up to $700, in some places)

The dealer's original price was $27,500. I forgot to mention it's a CPO too.

That gives me something to benchmark against. My dealer was saying that they price their used cars low, so I would expect to pay a bit more (say, $26+ on a CPO that they're asking $28k for). But I can afford to be patient... ;)
