I have 17,400 miles on my 2009 4.6 Genesis. Every 3K to 5K, I get the factory Dunlop tires rotated. I went in for my 4th tire rotation today and the boys at Discount brought me 3 tires that had worn down to the inner tread in the inside rim. Pics attached.
They warned me that wear to this level was unsafe. I went to the dealer who remarked he had seen wear like this on another vehicle but this owner had never rotated his tires and had 20K on them.
I would also like to add that these tires seem to be getting “noisier” as they wear. Being hearing challenged, I marveled at being able to carry on a normal conversation while driving. Now, road noise has seemingly elevated itself…Only thing I can think of…Tire wear and maybe this is part of it.
Bottom line- I think the engineers in Korea need to see this and make remedial suspension enhancements.
Tell me your thoughts, folks.
