  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I have been reading articles on the 4.6. Even though the authors like the car, their comparisons to BMW, Lexus ECT have them remove the Genesis from a sport lux. My experience shows how quick people are to condemn. I recently changed my rubber to a higher speed rated tire with stiffer side walls and low and behold- the ride gives me what they were missing in the comparo-- More steering response, less under steer, more control at higher speeds, shorter stopping distance, and a car that now handles like a German piece of sh*t. I love my car if I wanted German stiffness and a car that requires work to drive I would have mortgaged my house to buy one. I like the better handling and Car and Driver should have noted that the cars compared had different rubber on the road

What tires did you put on? Specs please!

On this forum, most owners complain about the stiff ride, not the steering response (mine is good) or the high speed control (mine is good to 100mph) etc.

My Continental also handles great but gives a better, softer ride.

What tires did you buy. (When mine are worn out, I will go with the BFG KDWS)

Owners,
Due to unavailibility of OEM my dealer had to replace all rubber, they used the Dunlap Sp Sport series but used the Signiture rated "W" a much stiffer walled tire. I will have the opertunity to try diffrent rubber possibley summer tires that should work well in florida. But my discussion was that the comparos that very declassified the sedan from sport class, my change to new tires showes my suspension is as good as the rest (or better) just a little tweek in rubber would have changed thier mind.

I definately agree.I have just replaced my wheels and tires.«i have a 2009 4.6 tech package.
Ichanged the wheels to 20 inch 240 Toyos on the front and 285 40 on the rear the rubber is 10 inches wide on the front and 11.75 inches on the rear and the difference is amazing.Just drove from Waterloo Ontario canada to Buffalo New York and the ride and performance was amazing.
Note per my response to the Florida owners thread,Who was the owner of the black Genny I saw on Friday on University ParkwayÉ

What kind of Continentals did you buy? I'm looking for a more cushy ride.

I'm guessing he went with the conti procontact DWS. It does indeed give a cushier ride, but you will lose a little lateral grip over the stock Dunlops. Except for the wheelspin, I'm happy with the DWS's. They definitely evened out the "harshness" a bit and are great on wet roads. Haven't had the occasion to try them on snow.
