If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. To keep or not to keep the Genesis logo that is the question?

Should I remove the Genesis logo from the trunk when I rebadge?

OK I am getting my Genny rebadged next weekend and want everyones opinion... Should I remove the Genesis emblem from the trunk with the 'H'?

Im not sure if it is nessary to have the wing say Genesis and then have the word a foot and a half lower down. Whats your take?

It's a matter of what you like. I removed all the lazy H logos I could and replaced with the wings. I like the look better and so do most people I have talked to. I also get a kick out of people gawking at my car wondering what it is:-) Anyway, do what you like and not what other people think. That's my two cents.

Ben

When I put the lip spoiler on I removed the letters and the 4.6 as well as the Genesis letters on the chrome tag holder......looks so much cleaner and symetrical

I took both the GENESIS and the 4.6 off of the back when I re-badged the trunk. (click on my photo above to access other photos to see what it will look like). After a few months of that, I put the GENESIS 4.6 back on. I'm wanting people to easily see what car it really is. I guess I'm wanting it to be a little less mysterious than before. I've got this strong feeling that I'm gonna' take it all off again. That's what's neat... you can apply and remove it all at will. Just a tiny bead of clear silicone makes it stick great, and removes again using the 'flossing with fishing line' procedure. Actually, I've had the 4.6 on and off a couple of times..... I'm kinda' proud of my horsies! Don't beat yourself up if you go back and forth. It's been said, ..."A wise man will change his mind. Only a fool never will". Have fun with it.

In my humble opinion, the trunk emblem is the most important one to replace. The hood is really optional, but second on my list would be the wheel hub covers.

Pick one or the other. Both would be too much. When you remove the "H" emblem, you will find two holes. These must be covered up with something, so I'm guessing you're using the wing emblem in that location.

Thanks for the input guys. I am without a doubt replacing the 'H' and have the wing emblem on its way. I just felt that the word emblem 'GENESIS' seemed a little too much. Like have a 3 series logo in two places with less then a foot of space separating them. That, and, as was said prior, plays with the symmetry.

OK I finally decided... No word emblem. I am putting the car in tomorrow for the mods that I have already listed; 50%Tint on side windows and 30% on back window, Wing Emblems (Rear/Wheel Caps/Steering Wheel), removal of GENESIS emblem.

Take a look at my photos for a good overview, also its all in what YOU want. Another good point made if you don't like it then just reinstall the original, so no harm done. But I do get a kick when peeps ask me "What kind of a car is that Genesis" :D Cheers

OK so here are the pics...

I'm completly debadged (OK, I still haven't removed the "H" on the wheels yet, but I'm working on it).

Personally, I hate automotive badges. To me it's just free advertising for the car company that I get no benefit from. People who know their cars know what kind it is just by its appearance. The rest are more than welcome to ask...or to just gawk.

I've debadged since my first Saab 900, and the second one, and the Volvo S70 I owned before buying the Genny last year. I tell the dealer to not put a dealship logo or license plate frame on the car too, or to remove it if he's already put one on, unless he'd like to pay me an advertising fee for as long as I own my car, or knock several percent off the price of the car. So far no dealership has taken me up on the offer. They just take all their stuff off the car.

Without any badging its amazing the number of folks you get coming up and asking "What car is this?" instead of asking "Is this a Bentley?" which the Genesis wing emblem obviously copies.

You make a good point. What have you done to fill the holes on the trunk and what do you conceive you'll put in place of the wheel H?

I fully debadged, except fo the "H" on the engine baffle...not sure how to take that off.

There is a key case available with the winged logo, not sure I want to pay $50 for it.

Initially I had two black plugs in them (here's a website that you can get them from, but I got mine at Lowe's: www.widgetco.com/hole-plugs). It looked fairly clean, but I just didn't like the two "dimples" (although I'd have lived with the two plugs rather than leave it badged). Being a retired Naval Aviator, I ended up finding a high quality set of aviator wings that now cover the holes. They aren't Genesis wings, or Bentley wings. They are my wings.

I'm still working on a plan for the wheels. Those are fairly benign, so they are low priority. Personally I'm not too concerned with all the little logos. I just can't stand the ones that car manufacturers plaster on the grill, the trunk, and the quarter panels. If I've still got a few low-key ones hanging out on the hub caps, the steering wheel, etc., I'll probably just leave them.

As for the key fob (for Paulroger's question), it's adhesive backed, so you can just pop it out with an X-acto knife if you wanted to and put what ever you like in the spot, or leave it as is (it's got two silver "dots" under the "H" that look like little eyes peeking out at you from the oval where the "H" once sat). I'm thinking about putting a Ford logo in there (it's the same shape). Then, if someone steals my key fob, they might take it to a Ford in the parking lot and try to steal it, instead of my Genny.

What about the "H" on your key fob?

What about the splash screen on the NAV system?

That's it! I give up. Too many "H" logos to get rid of...so I just traded in my Genny for a 1971 Buick Electra...What a SWEET ride!!!!

I am also thinking about removing the Genesis 4.6 from my trunk as I think
the cleaner looks makes the wing stand out more but from what I can tell
the Korean Version Keeps the Genesis logo on, even though the word Genesis
is written on the wings.

What about all the "H's" on the glass (windshield, doors etc)?
