Getting familiar with the group...
As some of you may have seen from some of my posts over the past three weeks or so, I have been frustrated in my efforts to purchase a new R-Spec. I remained patient and finally obtained, today, a 2012 Genesis R-spec sedan in black. More importantly, I was able to purchase it for the Circle program price. My cost was $42,551.95, plus a $599 dealer prep fee. My car included the iPod cable and cargo tray, no Bridgestone summer tires. In addition to the Circle price, I also took advantage of the Motozuma program and Hyundai matched the $500 I had deposited into that account. My only other costs were tax, tag, and title. The dealer threw in rebadging for the trunk and wheels.
If it were not for Rick Case Hyundai in Davie/Weston, Florida, I most likely would not own this car. More specifically, their new car sales manager, Ralph Sorrentino. While every other dealer I had talked to in South Florida laughed off the Circle price and insisted on MSRP, Ralph Sorrentino went above and beyond all the other dealers. On his own (without and nudge or hint from me), Ralph reached out to his Hyundai Regional Manager, explained my situation with the Circle pricing and secured a car for me as part of his next allocation that arrived at the dealership yesterday. I highly recommend Rick Case Hyundai in Davie/Weston, Ralph Sorrentino and his sales consultant, James Taylor. They were great.
As an fyi, Rick Case Hyundai Davie/Weston received three R-specs yesterday, including mine (all three in black). As of this morning, the other two were already sold and being delivered later this afternoon. I am not sure how good the following information is but I was told that most Hyundai dealers are to be allocated 1 R-spec every six months. I questioned that info simply on the fact that Rick Case had already received four (including their first one which I had test driven several weeks back). In response I was told some of the larger dealers are securing more but I am not sure how long that will continue. I also mentioned to the sales consultant that I had seen information indicating only 1200 are to be produced. The sales consultant told me it may be closer to 1000 that actually make it to the U.S. Again, I am not sure of the accuracy of any of this information.
Lastly, I want to thank everyone on this forum. I have read and processed vast amounts of information here that was all extremely helpful in my decision and purchase of the Genesis. I love the car. Thank you.
