what year is your r-spec?
I guess like the 2015 V6 Genesis that has a new lower limiter being imposed, you must have one... The link article and the ghost verified more than your 159 limit... And yes, still accelerating hard which you observed before your cutoff.. Reported in 6th.
First off I have a 2012 R spec sedan not a V6. I thought ghost was driving the same car. I have no knowledge of what the 2015 GPS system can show nor do I care. What did he verify? Did I miss something? I simply stated that due to over 20 years of racing and driving experience I can make a judgement call which is totally my opinion. Dont take it personal. I feel that a R spec sedan with the proper tuning can be a very competitive car against many upscale performance sedans. Lets not get sensitive to keep this conversation fun and educational.
That's 155. Just where it should be. I'm still not at all buying anyone telling me that theirs does more. By law they have to clip speed due to tire ratings. And the fact is the Genny is clipped at 155mph. Period. Anyone says otherwise needs to post video of GPS showing different or it didn't happen.
pointless debate.......
My car hit fuel cutoff at speedo indicated 249kph I figure with how hard it was pulling it'd hit near 300kph.
Safari browser does not show your detail. You from Canada and drive a 2012 5.0?
Yes from Canada. I have a 2013 R-spec. I'm not getting involved with the debate. I was just stating I hit a governer at 249.
Edit: don't know how much clout it has. But car&driver lists the 2012 R-spec sedan top speed as a governed 150mph.
Yep.. All across the board...Canada at 155, others here have gone 10+ mph faster, Hyundai changing CPU speeds on a whim depending on what tires are on the same model or engine combinations (see other posts), so who knows. Those who actually test the limits know for sure. And you are one of those in Canadian version of a 2013 model.
I believe it. I used to work for Volvo. And the S60 R of the time was supposedly governed at 155 as well. But I know of two specific manual tranny cars we sold that would do much much more than that. With one confirmed to do 175+. I think it's quite often that governer are not installed or possibly improperly installed.
My pickup for example is listed to have a governer of 180kph. But it actually kicks in at 160kph. The dealership is unable to figure out why.
No I drive a '13 denali. Soft cutoff at 140kph and hard cutoff at 160kph.
I can understand you are curious what the top speed is. There are few places that such speeds can be safely tested. The everyday need for speed is important. Acceleration is very important, getting in and out of daily drives safely and of course vehicular handling. The maximum speed a driver may need occasionally is about 100MPH. Getting on highways , blending with fast traffic and avoiding the jerky person , trying to cut you off. A good 0-100mph speed would be under 13 seconds. The 0-60 times of about 4.5 seconds or better should help. Last , but very important is braking, get the best brake option you can--- it will save your butt. A lot of people will not agree with me on this, but an enthusiast driver will. Thanks --- My car is not a v6.
Nothing getting "sensitive".. Please do not project your possible sensitive reaction onto others.. False flag. It is fun and educational. Again, your possible high school issues and debating tactics.. Those words just are not needed or wanted..
