Anyone have any luck sourcing a trailer hitch for the GV70?

There is a site named Genesis Parts and Accessories that sells the trailer hitch for about $499.00. Cable kit and S&H are separate.

I am considering putting a trailer hitch on my 2022 GV70 so that I can attach a UHaul trailer to take my daughter to college and then later use a 4 bike Thule bike rack. Wondering if there is a Genesis branded hitch and whether or not a dealer should install it? TIA any thoughts welcome......

Yes, there is a Genesis factory hitch - I'm not a huge fan because it has some pretty ugly parts that protrude out the back. I was going to wait for a while and see if any after-market hitches appear like "Hidden Hitch" that would be less obtrusive.

It should come off....it's bolted on. Others have removed theirs that came with the vehicle. Likely don't want to include the labor cost to take it off as part of the deal

Yup. About a year ago it became a dealer item. It has a part number. Not cheap. In the $400s. I had it installed at UHaul Because installation price from the dealer was outlandish. Uhaul cost me $100 with tax. I'm in Florida

Sorry to bring this thread up again but I'm looking for a hitch for a bike rack and realized how hideous the factory Genesis hitch is now that I have one on my loaner GV70. Anybody found one much, much better hidden than this one yet?

Damn...I was just about to order and book an appointment with the dealer to have this install. Nothing else is available in Canada it seems.

Draw-tight slightly better looking and half the price.
Personally I am waiting for Curt mfg Co, to introduce one for the GV70 they make a great one for the GV80.

I have never seen uglier hitch installations on a vehicle! I asked a couple of shops and they say the rear bumper fascia makes it impossible to install cleanly. I say...cut into the fascia then. Hanging this garbage inches below the bumper is completely unacceptable!

You'll notice how they cut off the ugliest components from the picture...even Genesis knows how bad it looks!

I preferred a more hidden hitch, so a fabricator/friend of mine came up with a design that I’m very happy with. It bolts to the existing holes and nuts in the frame. Had to drop the exhaust, but that wasn’t a big deal. I also didn’t mind cutting the rear fascia, as that’s common on most cars...

Below a Curt hitch on my '18 G80 Sport. I elected to not have the taillight package installed as I only wanted the hitch for a bike rack. Now I wish I had the lighting package installed as well for those times when I want to rent a SMALL trailer to carry a very light load.

My dealership removed my tow hitch free of charge after I reached out to the owner of the dealership. Both the sales person and the general sales manager said it could be removed after purchase, but for a charge. So after I sealed the deal - I sent an email to the owner of the dealership mentioning how it was shocking to me that a new customer would be 'nickeled and dimed' to have a simple request granted after making such a big purchase. Thankfully, this dealership cares about customer reviews.

I just had my tow hitch removed from my GV70. I don't have a foreseeable need for it in my life and have never needed or wanted to tow anything with my personal vehicle. Hopefully I'll find someone local in my area who's interested or in need of one.

I didn't want the ugly hitch but thought I might need one for a bike carrier for my new e-bike. I took the front wheel off of it today and it fits in the back pretty well! Don't need the hitch! Obviously had to put the back seats down...but it fit.

I am getting my Genesis this week and will have an extra trailer hitch to see if you need one. I will not keep the factory installed one but again, if you need one, you can let me know.

I saw some pics of the Genesis hitch installed in another thread on this forum. The parts show more than I'd like, but I like the functionality. Will be transporting 2 e-bikes, so folding the rear seats and shoving them in there would be difficult or impossible.

I thought it stuck out too. In that same thread (I think the exterior thread), there's a pic taken from the side. Almost no protrusion of those parts at all (a little bit of the hitch, can't see the wiring harness at all). Was glad to see that.

Getting mine installed at the dealer this week. Getting the harness was optional (all I really need right now is the hitch), but I'm getting the harness; it adds like $250 (for the time to do the wiring that's needed). And you never know for the future.
