In general, Florida is not the state in which to buy an extended warranty or service plan. The insurance industry has brought about state legislation that makes them insurance plans, which cannot be bargained on. Florida dealers' hands are tied, as much as they may want to compete in the market.
It may not be bargainable, but I got what I thought was a very good deal on a genuine HPP 10yr/120k $0 deduc platinum plan on my CPO 2016 Ultimate w/35k I bought 3 weeks ago. It was $1800 from the Hyundai dealer I bought the car from. Can't believe I won't have at least that much in covered repairs over the next 6+ yrs/85k.
Don't see why not.... It was at Fitzgerald Hyundai in Clearwater, FL.
Yes, it was a CPO.
Don't know of any credit/offset I got from them. They are one of those dealers that has non-negotiable pricing on their used cars (like Carmax). Only thing negotiable was the trade-in value.
Maybe buying the car from them vs just buying a plan alone comes into play. I was under the impression they just entered the car info into some computer and it spit out what HPP plan(s) Hyundai was offering on that particular car.
In GA this how things work, when I bought the 4.6 and the R-Spec extended warranty when they where new, I paid a fraction for what I paid for either 2015 and 2016, with around 20k miles on each (all four where through Jim Ellis). Not sure if the plus ~25k miles creates the rise in price, but would seem these things factor in. Seems counterintuitive to think since yours has only 38/58k (100/120) miles left to cover that possibly the warranty cost would drop, yet most likely they know the odds of something major happening may come sooner with the higher miles. It's got me scratching...![]()
Anyone have experience or comments on CarChex or Concord Auto Protect Warranty? Trying to compare 3rd Party with the Hyundai VSC quotes.
I agree! thanks for the heads up. I'm more confident of the HPP now even if it cost more.I've seen posts out here that state to get ONLY the HPP warranty, just due to it being backed by Hyundai and rarely having to dispute major repair issues. I learned my lesson with my previous Audi when I purchased 3rd-party and the head blew; was not a fun experience battling with them for 45-60 days and threatening legal action before getting them to pay-out about 50% of the repair - just saying don't want to go down that road again.
That being said, and as I've stated in several other threads here so far, the dealer slipped me a 3rd-party a few weeks ago while passing it off as HPP. The name was The Mechanic Agreement (Platinum plan backed and offered by Assurant) which had surprisingly favorable reviews from what I found online, yet I still chose to cancel it and am in the middle of trying to land the HPP somewhere. The dealer had priced the 10/120 plan at $2258 to give you some reference.
We forumers out here definitely need to keep each other informed on these plans and options.
