  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Yesterday I called the dealer closest to my house. I did not buy from this dealer as they had no used G70s that I wanted. We've had previous experience with this dealer having a difficult time getting our Santa Fe serviced (which was purchased there).

I was trying to schedule a service to have my rattling moonroof repaired. Nothing urgent but I never got that far. I was asked my name to which I replied I'm not in their system. I was then informed that they're not taking any new clients until January 1 of next year. I was forwarded to the guy I'm supposed to speak with who handles new clients but only got his voicemail.

There's only one other dealer within a reasonable distance. I called and had to leave a voicemail. I haven't heard back and I'm not wondering if I will. I'm sure glad I don't have an urgent need for service. I can't help but assume these dealers are refusing to pay techs what they're worth.

Has little to do with pay. With the lack of new cars people are more interested in servicing the existing car. Service is also a profit center. Tuesday I made an appointment at my dealer for 11/16. First available.

I stopped by and the waiting area was the most crowded I've ever seen there. They are also a Toyota dealer next door. The lack of cars was plain to see. They had the few spaced out so much you could park a battleship between them with space left over for an aircraft carrier.
