Trunk light covers

I would like to upgrade the two lights in the trunk as I feel the stock bulbs are way too dim. However, I cannot figure out how to get the plastic lens cover of the lights. It seems like you should just move the little tab to one side and the cover should come right off. Am I missing something? Thanks.

I think those are sold and replaced as complete units, I got a nice set of LED replacements from Korean Auto Imports. They have a website with alot of cool stuff. I haven't used them in a while but my few interactions with them were all good.

The covers do pop off0 use screwdriver at one or both ends- don't be affraid of a little force.

Diode Dynamics has LED replacements from $1.99 ea to $7.99 ea.
I did all my LED replacements and sure make a difference. Try the footwell LED replacement in BLUE- saweet!
