  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Genesis Model Type
2G Genesis Sedan (2015-2016)
Have 2015 50

purchased at 45K miles, soon after transmission was slamming into gear when accelerating. After raising ___ factory replaced tranny. Still noticing uneven shifting when cold, very serious lag from slow rolling start or standing start when pulling out in traffic with pedal down and turning- dangerous actually. In regular drive the throttle is feather sensitive to light deceleration or acceleration if my foot isn't perfectly still- not as bad in economy . I'm wondering if this is a throttle sensor problem or similar something rather than the tranny. Any feedback is appreciated.

My 2015 AWD 3.8 has that lag when heavy on the pedal from a stop and turning. It's the traction control cutting the throttle because the front inside tire starts to break loose. I don't think it's quite as dangerous as it is surprising. Usually only takes a second to recover.

Does the engine rev smoothly in neutral? Most quality scan tools would show pedal and throttle body positions. My cheap GDS/VCI knockoff will read those.

Do you use the paddles? I find it messes with shift points after using them, coming to a stop and driving away. Long lags before up-shifting.

If tranny was fully replaced, then check the throttle body and its position sensors.

Also, was the torque convertor changed as part of the new tranny?
